Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Season 1 of content is highly anticipated by the community, but they have to wait longer than expected for it. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 was originally going to launch on December 10, only for it to be delayed to December 16. To tide fans over, Activision has released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 cinematic trailer, highlighting the new playable operator Stitch, their backstory, and some of the new content fans can expect.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 trailer mainly focuses on playable operator Stitch, who was a KGB agent that had a hand in making the Nova-6 gas. Stitch was eventually captured by Russell Adler and tortured, though apparently did not give up any valuable information. Stitch spent some time in the gulag for his failures, but has since returned to producing Nova-6 and has set his sights on Adler.

The showdown between Adler and Stitch happens on the new Black Ops Cold War multiplayer map Mall at the Pines, which is an 1980s shopping mall. It's not the only new multiplayer map that will be featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1, but it got the most attention in the trailer.

Something else of interest in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 cinematic trailer is some of Stitch's dialogue. Stitch makes reference to Rebirth Island, which has long been rumored to be the location of a new Call of Duty: Warzone map. If the rumors are to be believed, Rebirth Island is a remake of the Alcatraz prison island map that has been featured in previous Call of Duty games, though that has yet to be confirmed.

It's still unclear if the new Call of Duty: Warzone Rebirth Island map will be available when Black Ops Cold War Season 1 launches on December 16, or if fans will have to wait until later in the season to see it in action. While the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 update will undoubtedly add a lot of new content to the game, some of the content will likely be released in future updates and saved for the typical mid-season refresh.

Something that fans can count on for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 launch is the addition of Gunfight modeCall of Duty: Modern Warfare's Gunfight has been a big hit in the community, so many will be happy to see it coming back for Black Ops Cold War come December 16, alongside new character Stitch, multiplayer maps, and much more.
