Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans have good reason to be excited about Season 2, as it will be bringing the first Zombies character to the game's lineup of Operators. None other than Samantha Maxis will be playable in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War during Season 2, with three other Operators joining her.

Samantha’s arrival was leaked last week, but today, her debut was officially confirmed. Integral to the Call of Duty Zombies storyline from its inception, Samantha has gone from a little demonic girl to a fully grown woman striving to do the right thing. This adult version of Samantha will be playable, something that should be thrilling for fans of Call of Duty Zombies. Like other Operators, Sam will be playable inside Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer.

In the information blowout describing Sam’s arrival, the upcoming Zombies setting of the Ural Mountains is mentioned once again. Beyond this, Sam’s rescue during the Firebase Z main quest is highlighted, confirming that her multiplayer debut takes place after that easter egg. She will be on the side of NATO in their fight against Perseus, and she will arrive “in season” — with her specific arrival date and information on her bundle not yet specified. She will not be coming alone, however.

Both new, in-season operators will be on the NATO side, with the new members sharing the goal of rescuing Russel Adler following his capture in the Season 2 teaser. Wolf is a hunter from Louisiana who lost his brother at a young age, becoming a U.S. Army sniper in his honor. Rivas has a background as a vigilante, growing up in Nicaragua and fighting back against the Menendez cartel. Both Operators boast interesting designs, and their character models should allow for plenty of fun new cosmetics to be added.

The final Operator highlight appeared in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 cinematic trailer, and he goes by the name Naga. Part of the Warsaw Pact faction, this mask-wearing antagonist is described as a cruel warlord and close ally of Stitch. A drug trafficker with an extensive supply line used to move Nova 6 weapons, this original character is certainly interesting, and he should prove to be a real threat for Woods, Samantha, and the rest of NATO as they search for Adler.

Seeing four Operators in one season is exciting, and Season 2 seems to be packed with content for players to use them on. For Call of Duty Zombies fans, though, this season is extra special, as players have wanted to play as Samantha for an awfully long time.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
