Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has introduced numerous new features to the game, with the Prestige Shop being a major attraction for the players who spend lots of time in the FPS. However, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have been quick to criticize the shop, as it lacks an important feature.

Meant to reward players as they progress through the game’s levels, the Prestige Shop allows Call of Duty fans to spend their Prestige Keys on special calling cards and emblems. While there is a fair selection of exclusive items to unlock in the Prestige Shop, players have accidentally been buying things from the shop that they do not want. These faulty purchases are at no fault of their own, however, as there is currently no confirmation screen in Prestige Shop.

With players only being given one key every time they Prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, being selective with item unlocks is wildly important. However, players accidentally pressing the buy button once will be stuck with the item clicked on, as keys are instantly spent. With no “are you sure” screen shown before the purchase, players like OnionPrimeMinister are being stuck with items like a “whale calling card” despite having no interest in the item.

Though this is a small quality of life issue, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans should be aware of how quickly they can lose prestige keys if they are not careful. While Treyarch has yet to comment on the problem, hopefully a confirmation screen is introduced soon. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War possibly seeing a secret nerf made to XP, leveling up takes even longer — making Prestige Keys harder to earn and even more valuable to players.

Popular Call of Duty news page CharlieIntel tweeted out a warning to players about the missing confirmation screen, getting multiple replies where fans complained about accidental purchases. With massive YouTube star Syndicate even sharing that he “learnt that the hard way 3 times,” it seems like the misclicks have been widespread. Considering how Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans are already upset about the game’s guns being mostly ineffective in Call of Duty: Warzone, this news about the Prestige Shop’s missing feature comes at a bad time.

In more positive news, Gunfight has returned to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, getting a special live-action Gunfight Game Show trailer to hype its return. While playing the mode will not return any Prestige Keys that were spent accidentally, it should serve as a good way to cope with their loss.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
