While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies has seen most of the issues tied to Outbreak mode fixed in recent weeks, clearly some still exist. One fan of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War proved this, posting a confusing clip online that depicts an unusual item in their third weapon slot.

While the item itself is certainly interesting, what should immediately jump out to players is the number of weapons the Call of Duty Zombies fan cycles through. Wielding the powerful Hauer 77 shotgun alongside the iconic Ray Gun, things seem normal as Redditor Terrific_Tom32 prepares to explore the Ruka map. Checking their map for points of interest, the player goes to switch their weapon once again — only to find that they have somehow received an additional weapon slot.

Currently, players only have two weapon slots available in their inventory, making this an intriguing bug for the extra slot alone. In the past, the Mule Kick perk has allowed players to carry three weapons, though this perk is currently not available in-game. However, with Mule Kick leaked for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it will likely come eventually, with this bug possibly confirming that Treyarch has been preparing its functionality ahead of time. Fortunately, players do not need to worry about Terrific_Tom32 having an unfair advantage of some kind, as the Zombie Head that appears is not exactly a powerful weapon.

The Zombie Head in question comes from the Outbreak objective Defend, which sees players picking up the head and placing it into a machine so Dr. Grey can run some tests. The head then comes to life, calling in undead hordes that players will need to fend off. While the objective is a fun one, the post’s title indicates that it is somehow connected to this “three gun” glitch, as something must have gone wrong during the Defend process.

Fortunately, this is not a game-breaking Zombies bug, as the player never sees the head again once cycling through their weapons once more. While this is a startling moment, fans that encounter the issue now know that they can get rid of the Zombie Head by switching between their weaponry. As confirmed by Terrific_Tom32 in the comments, the head was never seen again, with the player able to progress through the Outbreak match normally.

While it remains to be seen if Mule Kick will be the next perk to join the Zombies meta, clearly there are some mechanics in place for the drink’s abilities. When it comes to the game properly, players should be able to wield another weapon as opposed to the skull of one of their undead foes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
