Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War continues as the premiere traditional Call of Duty experience. Operating alongside WarzoneCold War has held many players satisfied and looking forward to the Season 4 reveal.

Now that reveal has officially dropped, and there's a lot of new stuff coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Alongside new content for Warzone and Zombies Mode, Multiplayer is getting four new maps and three new multiplayer modes. While one new multiplayer mode is truly new, the others are returning favorites, as are two of the four new maps. Topping all of this off is a brand new scorestreak.

With Season 4 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players will get access to the maps Collateral, Amsterdam, Hijacked, and Rush. Collateral is the largest map, and can host either 12v12 or smaller 6v6 matches, with vehicles usable in the 12v12 variant. Amsterdam is the exact opposite, a small rooftop map for 2v2 or 3v3 matches based off a specific level in the single player campaign. Hijacked is a returning fan favorite, a 6v6 map on a huge yacht. Rush is also a returning fan favorite 6v6 map, but it's dropping later in the season rather than right at launch.

Hijacked's return in Season 4 is not the only classic making its way back to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Of the three newly added game modes, two are returning favorites. The first is One in the Chamber, where players have a pistol and one, guaranteed lethal bullet. Killing an enemy gets a reload, but a miss means they only have the equally lethal knife to fall back on. The second returning mode is Capture the Flag, and the final, new mode is Sat-Link. In Sat-Link, players must activate and camp a satellite uplink while their score rises, first team to the score limit wins.

Finally, the new scorestreak coming to multiplayer is the Hand Cannon. Originally from the campaign, it holds eight rounds that are guaranteed lethal against infantry and can also deal damage to scorestreak vehicles. Taken together, these additions make a good case for players to keep playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

There's a lot more included in Season 4 of course, including some new weapons. Hopefully the Season will also include some quality of life changes players have asked for in the past, though these are often less advertised.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
