Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has seen dozens of different bugs during its launch month, with the glitches ranging from game-breaking to hugely beneficial. However, the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War glitch fits into neither category neatly, as the absurd bug sees naked character models fighting in online matches.

Rather than actual operators like Russel Adler or the Season 1 addition of Stitch, players are transforming into odd, featureless character models. With flat faces alongside fully detailed hands and feet, the models are certainly odd to say the least. Weirder, the bugged operator sees no hair on its head and no clothes on its body apart from underwear and a thin chest wrap — making the almost-nude character model an unforgettable sight.

One of the first sightings of the buggy model came in the classic CoD mode Search and Destroy. Captured by Gabgagne19, the “naked guy” ran around their SND game for the entirety of the match, wielding an AK-74u SMG with Plague Diamond camo on his nude back. With the round switches not seeming to have an impact on the character model’s nakedness, it seems that unlucky players stuck with the bugged skin will be naked for the entirety of their matches.

A second appearance came on the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War map Moscow, with the player capturing a photo being just as confused as the last. Like the last redditor, sarry4444 was fighting the nude player  “all round,” with the transformation being far from temporary. While a few commenters joked about the naked character, with the original poster reiterating that they found the bug “hilarious,” a few other players were frustrated by yet another major glitch appearing in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

It turns out that multiplayer is not the only game mode where this glitch can be seen, however, as Call of Duty Zombies players have also been plagued by the bug. Captured on video by reddit user hunterwasnthere, the glitch seems to be tied directly to the PS5 version of the game. While it is far from game-breaking, it is hard to take a match of Zombies seriously when a player in the lobby is wearing no clothes and sliding in the snow almost naked — with the intro cutscene spotlighting the bug in clear detail.

The bug looks similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's random mannequin, with the only difference being the shade of color used for the two models. With Season 1’s big update set to fix numerous issues, it will be interesting to see if Treyarch can eliminate this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War bug next week.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
