When fans first entered the multiplayer arenas of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare they noticed one key feature missing. Recent footage from streamers and early access playthroughs of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War show the return of that feature to a thankful community of fans.

With the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War unveiled their multiplayer experience, the full reveal did not give all the answers to fan's questions. What it did do, however, was open up the door for streamers and members of the Call of Duty content creation community to share their personal experiences with the multiplayer game mode. From there, fans simply listened and observed secrets as to the upcoming multiplayer experience.

In a screenshot caught during NoahJ's stream fans noticed a small detail that is a fan-favorite feature. Players were happy to see the return of the map voting system which was mysteriously absent from Modern Warfare appear during the stream, confirming its implementation into Cold War. Although the feature in the early version of the game only selects the one map, it is still a big enough confirmation for fans to enjoy.

Map voting can become a vital feature in Call of Duty titles as it allows fans the option to avoid possibly broken or troublesome maps. While it would be nice if every map was perfect, there is a large selection of maps in Modern Warfare alone that are less then enjoyable to grind through.

With the map voting feature, players regain their lost control over the lobby. There is always the fear that players will cycle the same few maps, but with a strong enough sway in the party, every map can eventually be viewed. It is not surprising that map voting has returned as it has been in every Black Ops title, but the same could have been said about Modern Warfare until its most recent release.

Still, many fans are happy to see the feature return to this year's exciting multiplayer experience. This is one of many hidden features that lie buried in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that was not revealed during the reveal. As fans get more footage and more time to explore the varying trailers a clearer picture will no doubt be found describing the next game's experience. Until then, fans will just have to keep an eye on the streaming community and continue to wait for official announcements from Treyarch and Activision.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to launch November 13th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
