Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has just wrapped up its latest double XP event, but fans still have plenty of reason to play. Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that changes up the available playlists in multiplayer, introducing some new game modes in the process.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update adds a new mode called Face Off, which is 3v3 games of Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. With only three people on any given team, it's necessary for Face Off to take place on small maps, and so players will be battling it out on Gunfight maps. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War just added Gunfight to the game with the big Season 1 update, with four maps available so far.

Also added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 was a remake of the popular Black Ops 2 map Raid. Now fans of the Raid multiplayer map can play it exclusively, as it is being featured in its own 24/7 playlist. Previously, Raid was part of a playlist with the Mall at the Pines map. Gunfight, Prop Hunt, and Nuketown Holiday 24/7 playlists remain in the game after the latest update.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer fans check out the new modes and playlists, they can take advantage of Double Battle Pass XP. Not to be confused with regular double XP like the game recently had, Double Battle Pass XP will allow players to get through their Season 1 Battle Pass twice as fast. Interested Call of Duty fans that need some extra help getting through their Battle Pass can take advantage of the Double Battle Pass XP from now until it concludes on December 28.

And finally, the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update has added new Daily Challenges to both multiplayer and Zombies. Daily challenges should help Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players earn even more XP, regardless of whether they are playing multiplayer or Zombies.

Moving forward, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans can expect more big updates for the game. There will likely be a mid-season refresh in a few weeks to keep fans engaged with Season 1, and after that, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 is undoubtedly on the way. Details on what Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 will entail remain scarce at the time of this writing, though Treyarch has teased that it will include a new Zombies map.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
