Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans may be happy to see more 6v6 content coming to the game, though there are still a few more things some would like to see added. Specifically, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players are asking Treyarch to bring back Capture The Flag and Demolition.
While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s playlist changes have seen several game modes entering into rotation, Demolition and Capture The Flag have yet to make an appearance. For those unfamiliar with the game modes, Demolition was essentially Search and Destroy with respawns, where players attack or defend two bomb sites across three rounds. Equally intense was Capture The Flag, with the mode tasking players with stealing a Flag from the enemy spawn and bringing it back to their own to score a point.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan CodyW1976 started a thread on Reddit, simultaneously using the title to fire shots at those players who do not play the objective in online matches. Their point is clear, though, with the image from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s menu playlist helping to drive the point home. With nearly 3,000 upvotes and over 200 comments on the post, the request is certainly proving to be a popular one, with CodyW1976 showing they are not alone.

While some players like Krash0699 pointed out how long Demolition games lasted as a potential negative, users like Grand_Corgi were quick to respond with how lengthy games were the “best part about Demolition.” Lasting around 20 minutes if a game was competitive, players highlighted how fun it was to drop 100 kills and combine the mode with Double XP periods. Others pointed to how fun proper teamwork could be in Capture The Flag, while thirdaccountmaybe asked for Headquarters to return.
With many clearly missing Capture the Flag and Demolition, the pair of objective modes would likely be welcomed back with open arms. However, as pointed out by Reddit user Castromancer, Demolition has not appeared in a Treyarch game since 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. As for Capture the Flag, its last appearance in a Treyarch release was 2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. While Demolition was a limited-time mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Capture The Flag has appeared in Call of Duty Mobile, it is clear that Treyarch has shied away from both.
For now, all that gamers interested in the modes can do is add their voices to the mix and continue to ask for their return. With neither game mode featuring as a permanent playlist for years, though, these Call of Duty fans’ requests may ultimately go unheard.
