Season 2 Reloaded began yesterday in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, bringing some fresh content to multiplayer and Zombies fans. One of these additions is the PlayStation exclusive Containment game mode, and it looks like a lot of fun for those that play Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on the PS4 or PS5.

For those unfamiliar with what Containment mode is, it is essentially a brand-new version of Zombies Onslaught. Taking place on the smaller 2v2 maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Containment speeds up Onslaught’s gameplay in a major way. While some of the other Onslaught maps have been criticized for being too slow due to their size, this mode will likely not have that issue, as Zombies and mini bosses are always spawning within the vicinity of the player.

To hype up the two player mode’s release, Treyarch has released a trailer for Containment mode. Within the brief video, players get an idea of what they can expect from the mode, as Gunfight’s four launch maps will be playable. The missile site of ICBM, train station of U-BAHN, offices of KGB, and the stylish Game Show will all be overwhelmed with Zombies via Containment mode. Currently, the only location missing from the lineup is the new Mansion map that was added with Season 2 Reloaded.

The trailer also confirms the mini boss types that players will be facing in the mode. Mimics and Manglers from Firebase Z will be included, as will the Megaton from Die Maschine. Tempests and Panzers from the Outbreak game mode are nowhere to be seen, however. A special blueprint for the Type 63 will also be attainable through playing Containment, with the Jungle Fighter variant of the gun sporting a green camouflage pattern as well as a wrapped suppressor.

One final detail that was confirmed by the trailer is that Containment is a limited time mode. This means that it will only last a few weeks before being removed from the playlist rotation, something that could disappoint Call of Duty Zombies fans. After all, if the close quarters combat of Containment really is an improvement over traditional Zombies Onslaught gameplay, losing the mode shortly after it debuts could be a devastating blow for PlayStation users. With the mode also introducing improvements like Pack-A-Punch and level 2 and 3 armor, taking it away so soon seems odd.

Still, it is hard to disagree that Xbox and PC players have it even worse in this regard, as Onslaught’s PlayStation exclusivity deal extends all the way to November of this year. As such, there is a chance that those on other platforms never even get the chance to try out Containment mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
