After months of anticipation and a real-world scavenger hunt, players confirmed that Activision's next Call of Duty game from developers Treyarch and Raven Software is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. A teaser trailer for Black Ops Cold War was discovered this week that let fans know the game will be revealed August 26, but other details about it have been leaked before then.

For example, Viral Junkie CEO Tom Henderson recently suggested zombie mode will be added to Black Ops Cold War, but it will not be announced during the August 26 reveal event in Call of Duty: Warzone. Today, news site COD Tracker published leaked information from an unnamed source detailing what pre-order bonuses players can receive for Black Ops Cold War, including early access to an open beta and a number of exclusive cosmetic items.

The possibility of Black Ops Cold War having an open beta was previously leaked, but COD Tracker purportedly confirms the beta will be available on PC through Battle.Net, and thus also available on PS4 and Xbox One. COD Tracker said it is unable to confirm whether it is just a multiplayer-focused beta. In terms of cosmetics, the pre-order bonus supposedly includes a Woods Operator Pack for Modern Warfare and Warzone, as well as two additional packs and a Season 1 Battle Pass Bundle for Black Ops Cold War.

As with all leaks, COD Tracker's report should be taken with a grain of salt — and the site tells fans to "be aware that all of the following information is unannounced and subject to change." That being said, the Black Ops Cold War title was leaked through a Doritos promotion and wound up being true, so it is worth at least considering the new information.

Excitement for the next Call of Duty entry is at an all-time high, as the success of Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare and teasing for this new game's historical setting has suggested something fun is in development. With Activision planning to reveal more about Black Ops Cold War this week, it will be interesting to see what the publisher says fans can expect.

In the meantime, Modern Warfare and the free-to-play battle royale Warzone are continuing to receive new content. Modern Warfare recently added the Velikan Operator Bundle, offering players a new character to take on from the mysterious Shadow Company.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is in development to release later this year.
