With mere weeks before the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Activision and Treyarch recently decided to announce the beta dates for the first-person shooter's new Blackout mode across all supported systems. Now, in order to better prepare potential players, the publisher and developer have confirmed a sneaking suspicion that many fans of the franchise have had for a while, with zombies officially present in the game's forthcoming Battle Royale mode.

As of now, neither Activision nor Treyarch have provided exact details as to how zombies will exist on the battlefield in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode, but players ought to expect them to be a lot less like their traditional status of a wave-based enemy type. Apparently, zombies will be incorporated into the Battle Royale mode in a more unique way, by making them a pest in certain situations, with the AI-controlled baddies also existing as a strategic weapon to be used against opponents during some moments.

For those who have been out of the loop lately, the announcement of zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout is just the latest detail to be confirmed as a feature in the forthcoming first-person shooter sequel's Battle Royale mode. For instance, not only was the player count of the mode officially revealed, but also Activision and Treyarch unveiled and detailed the vehicle list that will be available in Blackout as well.

All things considered, it looks as if Activision and Treyarch are making a strong attempt at ensuring that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode is able to stand out among all of the Battle Royale competitors in today's video game marketplace. While Fortnite will likely continue to reign supreme as the Battle Royale king after Black Ops 4 goes live, we will simply have to wait and see whether or not Blackout manages to impress and if the gaming landscape as a whole loses or maintains its interest in the game type.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to launch on October 12, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
