Just recently, Activision Blizzard held its quarterly investor call that not only touted a list of achievements for Q2 2018, but also covered the publisher's future prospects, including this year's release of the highly anticipated first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. At one point during the meeting, Activision Blizzard president and COO Coddy Johnson announced a more increased focus on the PC version of the game, saying that the company has "invested significant dedicated resources" to ensure it will "deliver a great PC game to serve that community."

While this will likely be seen as good news to PC fans looking forward to the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Johnson unfortunately didn't offer further details to explain exactly how Activision Blizzard intends on maximizing the quality of the PC version of the game. However, the company's president and COO did state that Activision Blizzard will "have a lot more to say at the Black Ops 4 global reveal" come May 17, 2018.

For the uninitiated, many entries in the first-person shooter franchise prior to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 have been more well-received by console fans than by the PC community, so there's no doubt that Activision Blizzard wants to see further growth in the PC market for the series. After all, the company pointed toward its continued expansion into the domain by deciding to make Bungie's science fiction shooter Destiny 2 available on Battle.net last year, which is a fan-favorite online PC service offering access to such popular games in the PC community as Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft.

Taking everything into consideration, it's quite possible that Activision Blizzard could provide Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 with same kind of polish and attention it gave Destiny 2 on PC at its launch for the platform last year. As it so happens, the Call of Duty profile account management site was updated a couple of months ago to show the list of services that users can connect their profile to that now includes Blizzard’s Battle.net alongside the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam, indicating that the company is serious about having Black Ops 4 cater to the PC crowd.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to launch on on October 12, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
