With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 just a few short months away, more information about the game has been surfacing, such as the dates for the multiplayer and Blackout betas. Now, we also know more about a special edition of the game that is being released.

The announcement for the Mystery Box Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was made at San Diego Comic-Con during the panel for the Zombies mode. Activision has since released more information on its website with what the edition will contain. Along with a copy of the game, fans can look forward to getting some physical loot and digital content as well.

The first thing players will notice is the titular mystery box the game and all the collectibles come in, which looks like something one would find in the game itself. It's adorned with spooky skulls and skeletal/zombie figures with light-up eyes and it even emits zombie noises. It doesn't stop there, though, as this box is packed with goodies that should make serious Black Ops fans happy.

Included in the box are physical patches for all 10 of the game's specialists. There will also be some lithographs depicting characters and events from the Zombies mode, along with a copy of the first issue of Dark Horse's Call of Duty Zombies.  Some pins of the heroes from the Zombies mode are also in the box, made by FiGPiNS. The final few pieces of items include a Black Ops 4 Popsocket phone grip and a 1,000 piece 10th Anniversary Call of Duty Zombies puzzle.

Last, but not least, the game itself will of course be included with this edition. Not only that, but it will also come in a special steelbook. The Mystery Box Edition will also come with the Black Ops Pass, which will work like a season pass for the game and include access to new multiplayer maps, along with other post-launch content. There will also be yet-to-be-revealed bonus content.

This edition of the game will be $199 and will be available to pre-order at participating retailers for fans who are eager to pick this up. It should be available alongside the standard version of the game in October.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to launch on October 12th, 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
