A few weeks ago, we got our first glimpse of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's multiplayer with a reveal trailer for the game. There were plenty of details to take note of, but those hungry for more can tune in to a livestream from Treyarch tomorrow at 10AM Pacific Time.

It's rather telling that the livestream, like the reveal trailer, is going to show off the game's multiplayer mode. This marketing focus on player-vs-player action very much reflects the general direction Treyarch has taken the series, having confirmed recently that Black Ops 4 the game will not feature a single-player Campaign mode.

The livestream, it seems, is strategically timed to build and maintain hype around Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in the run-up to E3, where Activision likely plans to unveil a Multiplayer demo of the game. As such, the main focus of tomorrow's stream will be on the maps that will be playable at the E3 booths.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 maps in question will almost certainly be for the core multiplayer mode, since no mention of Zombies or Blackout was made by Treyarch regarding the livestream. It's very likely that Activision will wait until E3 before showing off gameplay of the series-first Battle Royale mode, which has pretty much dominated the conversation surrounding the game since it was announced.

While it may seem counter-intuitive to show off more of a game before E3 starts, it seems to be a popular maneuver this year, with Sony deciding to announce 3 new PS4 games in the run-up to the expo. The new information given during tomorrow's livestream may be intended to stimulate the conversation around Black Ops 4, ensuring people are talking about it even before E3 begins.

The stream is definitely worth checking out for Call of Duty fans. After all, it's likely Treyarch will even do some fan interaction by taking questions, meaning that we may just see some extra information emerge beyond just a quick peek at a few new maps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to release on October 12, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
