Several months ago, Treyarch’s studio head hinted at more DLC to come in 2017 for the futuristic first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, with an even more recent rumor cropping up on Reddit just a few weeks back intimating that the game will receive an expansion known as Zombies Chronicles. Now, it seems as if that bit of gossip on the grapevine is starting to bear fruit, as a recent ESRB listing's early leak of a description for the add-on has shown up on the ratings board's website.

Although the post has since been taken down, fans can get a gander at the official listing for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's Zombies Chronicles DLC below thanks to a screen-capture of the ESRB's account of the game's content. However, a detailed explanation for the shooter's forthcoming expansion is nonexistent, as it instead offers an overview of the base game.

While the ESRB listing for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's Zombies Chronicles offers little in the way of official information regarding the add-on, another leak from a Mexican retailer has described the DLC as having eight remastered Zombies maps from Treyarch that have been updated with the game's Gobblegum feature. Nevertheless, there's no telling at this point in time as to which maps will make their way into the upcoming add-on.

The last piece of expansion materials for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3–that is, the Salvation DLC–got added to all platforms back in October 2016, so the fact that there appears to be yet another piece of post-launch content for the shooter on the horizon will decidedly excite the game's fan base. With this being the case, Black Ops 3 players should expect to learn about Zombies Chronicles in a more official capacity through an announcement from either the publisher Activision or the developer Treyarch relatively soon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
