It’s no secret that every year a new installment in the Call of Duty franchise arrives like clockwork. The FPS game always lands just before the holiday shopping season and is guaranteed to sell like gangbusters regardless of what reviewers have to say about it. Although the majority of gamers will end up with a standard copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 by Christmas morning, a smaller percentage of hardcore fans will end up with the game’s annual collector’s edition. This one might stick out under the tree…
After the impressive gameplay demo at E3, gamers are pretty excited to get hands-on with the next CoD game. The Call of Duty collector’s editions have a reputation for including some awesome out of game toy or novelty item for the big spenders to throw on a collector’s shelf. In recent years we’ve seen remote control cars, action cameras, and even aerial drones. This year’s package is sure to be a little heavier, especially after gamers load it up and put it to use.
According to an early leak from Optic Gaming, the zombies-themed Juggernog Edition includes a boatload of awesome gear, including a functioning mini-fridge. The Juggernog fridge is a reference to the in-game Perk-a-Cola machine and can hold up to 12 cans of soda… Or any other beverage gamers see fit to keep close by.
Here’s a full breakdown of everything included in the yet to be officially announced Juggernog Edition of Black Ops 3...

There are definitely a lot of great items in the collector’s edition to be pumped about, but using a mini-fridge as a center piece seems like a very strange choice. The reference to the in-game item is cute and stereotypically speaking, people do assume that Call of Duty players drink a lot of soda, but we’re very curious how many gamers actually have the space and/or use for this item.
If the team is including such a heavy-duty, likely expensive item, it seems like many fans might prefer a high quality weapon replica or statue. We look forward to hearing the reactions from the community about the set. Regardless of our gut reaction to the fridge, the rest of the contents seem awesome enough to make this worth hunting down.
No official price has been announced yet, but we don’t expect it to be cheap. Details about the game’s zombie mode should be arriving this weekend at Comic-Con, so we might find out more about the price at that point.
What do you think of the collector’s edition? Do you have any use for a mini-fridge or would you have preferred something else? Let us know in the comments.
