Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to launch this fall, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is still incredibly popular within the CoD community. The game is so popular, in fact, that one fan of the first-person shooter has created a character mod that turns the playable soldiers into anime girls. While some may consider this incredibly strange, the mod itself actually looks pretty amazing in its attention to detail.

This character mod for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 takes the anime models from Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online, and the creator believes that this mod is the first anime mod for Call of Duty. It fully supports and changes the character models for the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies, so those who have a love for shooters and anime may want to check out this mod.

For fans of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, this mod features the following characters: Neptune, Nepgear, IF, Noire, Uni, Blanc, Rom, Ram, Vert, and Kurome. It also features polished shaders, HQ models and textures, multi-lingual support, and lively facial animations, "making [the] waifus 1000% more lively!" Check out some screenshots below:

Dubbed Call of Duty: Neptunia Ops 3, the mod itself is a measly 86 MB, so for those interested, it should be a quick download. At the very least, this should be an amusing mod for those looking for a non-traditional Black Ops experience. Check out the Steam page for the mod here.

Nevertheless, while Black Ops 3 will always have its fan base, Black Ops 4 is the face of the franchise's future. Currently, the BO4 community is up-in-arms about the DLC model for the upcoming shooter, criticizing both the all-or-nothing approach as well as its post-launch content in general terms. While the game is currently having some issues, it will likely develop a dedicated fan base similar to Black Ops 3, and who knows, maybe one day Black Ops 4 will have its own weird anime girl mod.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
