Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 remains one of the most popular games in the series, with many hoping to see it remastered one day. While it remains to be seen if that will ever happen, one Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 player is looking back at the game’s lineup of guns.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s campaign featured an interesting mix of two different timelines, as one half of the game was set in the 1980s and the other half was set in 2025, all of its multiplayer guns are pulled from the future. Dropping nostalgia in favor of a unique weapon lineup, many players have great memories of the game’s weaponry. Whether it was the recoil-free AN-94 or the slug round-using KSG, there was plenty of variety. Now, with the power of hindsight, Reddit user SamSlayer09078-x has made a tier list for the game’s guns.

Unsurprisingly, two guns that were banned from League Play in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 top the list. The KAP-40 is undoubtedly the most overpowered Pistol in franchise history, with the fully automatic handgun decimating enemy teams. The FAL’s accuracy and damage saw it killing enemies quickly, bringing it another well-earned ban in the eyes of SamSlayer09078-x. After these two guns are given their special attention, the player begins to cover the stacked S-Tier.

This category includes the rapidfire Skorpion EVO, the KSG, and the AN-94. The LSAT LMG also features, with the Scar-H and MSMC also earning themselves a spot in this category. The XM8 appears, too. A Tier includes guns like the Peacekeeper and the M27, while B Tier features the MP7, Vector, and PDW-57. Even though it was the worst gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies, the SMR also makes the cut for B Tier, as it was a decent weapon in multiplayer.

Gimmick weapons take up C tier, with the Ballistic Knife and Crossbow both making an appearance here. D tier could be a bit divisive due to the appearance of the niche Chicom CQB SMG and Executioner Pistol, though the position of the launchers is fair. Hilariously, this Call of Duty tier list ends with the S12 getting its own position, as the gun is seen as worse than F Tier by SamSlayer09078-x. While the concept of a fully automatic shotgun sounds great, the weapon was horrendous in-game.

With fans seemingly getting a kick out of this list, they should be happy to know that the same player has posted tier lists for the other “golden age” Call of Duty games. With so many Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map remakes seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it is a bit strange that none of these iconic guns have returned alongside them.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is available now on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
