In the wake of countrywide Black Lives Matter protests and demonstrations, Activision has delayed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7. Infinity Ward has also announced its intention to work on combating racist usernames, but in the meantime, rumors are buzzing around the Internet about what will be coming next for the series in Call of Duty 2020.

Multiple rumors were gathered today in a video by TheGamingRevolution on YouTube, a prominent franchise leaker who has garnered attention for accurate information in the past — though that being said there's no reason to assume their video is absolutely correct. Based on leaked "pre-alpha" footage posted to the r/CoDCompetitive subreddit and a number of other Twitter and Reddit links that have been copyright claimed or taken down, TheGamingRevolution discusses a potential massive Ground War ice map as well as some standard 6v6 maps.

The most prominent of those basic maps may be codenamed "Tank" according to TheGamingRevolution, and they describe footage seen on Reddit of what appears to be a production yard for what may be abrams tanks — which would come into play during the latter end of the Cold War if rumors about Call of Duty 2020's setting are to be believed. One of the 6v6 maps may be a warehouse in a "massive open field" with a guard tower to one side and a river on the other that connects both team spawns; another may be a Russian city that could be large enough to instead host Ground War matches.

According to TheGamingRevolution, there may also be a number of remastered maps coming to Call of Duty 2020: Nuketown, Jungle, Summit, and Firing Range. Beyond just maps, this supposedly leaked pre-alpha build of the game also details weapons, killstreaks, and perks.

As previously mentioned, these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt until Activision makes an official announcement, especially given some of the footage is shoddily recorded with an iPhone camera and not entirely clear. However considering many of the uploaded clips have been taken down with copyright claims, this may point to some legitimacy in the leaks.

For now, fans will have to wait to get official announcements on Call of Duty 2020. Luckily, Modern Warfare and Warzone will continue to receive updates in the meantime, though players are currently finding flaws with Infinity Ward's profanity filters following its announced intent to work on cleaning up matchmaking.
