While many Call of Duty fans are still busy with Modern Warfare and the recently-released WarzoneCall of Duty 2020 is still expected to launch by the end of the year. Official details for the game remain scarce at the time of this writing, but a new leak has potentially revealed a lot of details about what fans can expect from the upcoming game.

This leak comes from TheGamingRevolution, who has been accurate about Call of Duty leaks in the past. According to TheGamingRevolution, Call of Duty 2020 will be a Black Ops reboot set during the Cold War, with a heavy focus on Vietnam, as has been previously rumored. The game is being developed as a collaboration between Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch, with Treyarch taking the lead on development.

Currently, Call of Duty 2020 is being referred to under the codename Project Zeus, but its actual title will likely be simply Black OpsCall of Duty: Black Operations, or Call of Duty: Black Ops 5. The game will supposedly feature characters from the previous Black Ops series, like Alex Mason and Frank Woods, though they will be played by new actors, similarly to how Captain Price was re-cast for Modern Warfare. The campaign will be more realistic, and will show the perspective of US forces, South Vietnam forces, and Vietcong forces.

As far as multiplayer goes, TheGamingRevolution reports that the Black Ops reboot maps will use the 3-lane system that Treyarch multiplayer maps are known for. There will be traditional, smaller-scale Call of Duty action along with the returning Ground War mode, which will allow for 32v32 like in Modern Warfare. TheGamingRevolution detailed one Ground War map, which will supposedly be a snow map with a frozen lake, with players able to utilize snowmobiles and tanks.

TheGamingRevolution also teased some of the Call of Duty killstreaks that will be featured in the Black Ops reboot. Apparently, there will be a flamethrower killstreak, along with UAV and counter-UAV returning. Players will also supposedly be able to use a bomber plane that will destroy airborne killstreaks like attack helicopters, plus the dog killstreak will be returning in some capacity.

In its current state, the Black Ops reboot uses stim hots for health regeneration like in Black Ops 4, as opposed to automatic health regeneration like in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. And finally, multiplayer operators will return as opposed to the Specialists that were used in Black Ops 4.

Fans should take all of this information with a massive grain of salt. While TheGamingRevolution has been accurate about Call of Duty leaks, especially as they pertain to the Warzone battle royale game, it's possible that his information is incorrect here or that his sources are leading him astray. However, this isn't the first time that we've heard that Call of Duty 2020 will be a Black Ops reboot set during the Cold War, so it seems like that bit of information is likely to be true, at the very least. Luckily, new Call of Duty games are typically revealed in May or June each year, so fans should find out more information in just a couple of months.

Call of Duty 2020 is in development for unspecified platforms.
