It's been no secret that Activison and Infinity Ward are working on a brand new Call of Duty title, mostly because details about it seem to keep being leaked. It's also been the subject of a number of rumors, with some claiming that it will buck current trends and return to having a full-fledged single-player campaign, with no battle-royale mode in sight apparently. Recently, however, a certain group of people was allowed to get a peek behind closed doors and actually try the game out themselves. Specifically, a bunch of NFL players.

Several NFL and college football players, including the likes of Florida State's Jacques Patrick and University of Georgia's Riley Ridley, were invited to a private Call of Duty event over the weekend. Unsurprisingly, they aren't allowed to comment on anything that they saw or played, but pictures and videos from the event have started popping up online. Most of them obviously don't reveal much, with the videos being brief snippets. One such video of the aforementioned Patrick and Ridley playing the game has begun making the rounds, however, because one fan on Reddit slowed the footage down and believes that they can hear the phrases "killstreaks" and "Modern Warfare 4."

This obviously doesn't officially confirm anything but this does match up with all the rumors and leaks, which have been suggesting that the next game would be Modern Warfare 4. There is also a Reddit page for the as-of-yet nonexistent game, where users have been studying some still images from the event and believe that they can spot in-game lobbies and scoreboards reflected in the monitors. If this is all true, this would be the first brand-new entry in the Modern Warfare series since the third game came out in 2011. However, it's also possible that it's in fact a remastered version of Modern Warfare 2, or maybe both are real and will be bundled together.

Call of Duty 2019 currently has no official title or release date.
