Warzone has been in dominated by the FFAR and AUG for a couple of months now. Over half of the player base only uses five of the 75 primary weapons in the game. Obviously, the meta will always rise to the top, but it feels like there are fewer viable weapons in Season 2 this year than there were a year ago.

The FFAR's time to kill is too quick for a lot of weapons to be used in higher-level lobbies, but players still have a few underrated options as a primary gun. The AUG nerf was positive, but keyboard and mouse players are still able to control the increased recoil. This guide will cover five top-tier weapons that are used by less than one percent of gamers.

5 MP5 (CW)

Despite how good the MP5 is, few players use it in Verdansk. The two main reasons are its recoil pattern and the FFAR's lower TTK. Unlike the other MP5, the Cold War MP5 has a relatively high magnitude of vertical recoil. The gun has almost no side to side bounce, but it does take some getting used to.

On controller, the Modern Warfare MP5 is slightly easier to control, which would explain its low usage. This is particularly an issue in long-range gunfights, but players will have their primary for those situations. Still, the MP5 has a better chest TTK than the MAC-10. More players use the MP7 than the Cold War MP5, which is hard to believe.

4 Gallo SA12

Gallo SA 12

The only issue with using the Gallo SA12 is the ammo capacity. The shotgun has enough shells to down up to two players, but it will need to be reloaded. The Gallo has the best TTK of all the shotguns and the gun has good range values as well. In solo and duo modes, the shotgun can be extremely effective in tight quarters. While the Streetsweeper and JAK-12 are very good shotguns in their own right, the Gallo will take down enemies faster. As long as gamers mind their ammunition and hit their shots, the Gallo has a place even in the FFAR meta.

3 PKM

PKM Warzone

The PKM is one of a handful of weapons that have not been balanced since Warzone was launched. It has been and will continue to be a reliable primary weapon. The gun has great range, damage, recoil, and a ton of ammo. A lot of gamers are unable to get over the excruciatingly long reload time and the low mobility of the PKM. Anyone that has used the LMG for a few matches understands that it can be one of the best weapons in the game if used correctly.

Players can tinker with the attachments to improve mobility and make the gun feel slightly more like an AR. Nerfs to the No Stock attachment have forced PKM users to run the Tac Laser, Stippled Grip Tape, or both. Equipping the Snatch Grip on the weapon is essential, as it will help with both recoil control and ADS. Head to head, the PKM has better damage values than the Bruen up to 50 meters.

2 AS VAL

It is perplexing that only .7 percent of players use the AS VAL in their loadouts. The gun will down enemies faster than the FFAR, MAC-10, and any of the other supposedly top-tier weapons. The max ammo capacity is just 30 rounds, which can be annoying to deal with in gunfights. Even with a small magazine, the assault rifle is the king of one on one engagements at close ranges. Unless an opponent has stopping power, they do not stand a chance.

Ammo conservation and awareness will be key factors while using the gun. The weapon has a fair amount of recoil, but so does the FFAR. A lot of gamers are missing out by not trying the close-quarter's laser beam. The AS VAL did arrive late in the life cycle of Modern Warfare, so it is possible that a lot of people do not have the gun leveled up or forgot about it entirely.

1 Bruen Mk9

Bruen LMG

There is no reason why the Bruen is used less frequently than the Krig 6, LC-10, MP7, and M13. As a primary gun, the Bruen is far and away better in almost every conceivable way. From point-blank range up to 100 meters, the LMG will down enemies in less than .8 seconds. This may not seem extraordinarily quick, but these are incredible damage vales at extended ranges. Anyone that is still using the Kilo needs to pick up the Bruen instead. The stigma of a nerf has kept a lot of the community from picking the gun back up and using it in the rotation. The recoil nerf can be fixed by using Rubberized Grip Tape and equipping the stock ammo. It may not be ideal, but the weapon is incredibly accurate and dominant at range.
