It is looking more likely that the upcoming season of Call of Duty: Warzone will be housing some big surprises. Activision's signature first person shooter series is no stranger to consistent releases, and one may be closer than fans think. According to a prominent leaker, Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone might have the first official reveal for Call of Duty 2021.

Typically speaking, new seasons for a live service game tend to include extra content and objectives. But ZestyCODLeaks, an established dataminer, suggests that Activision could use the future season to show off the rumored title. There have been plenty of leaks for Call of Duty 2021 recently, and the information shown off on Twitter seem to add fuel to the rumors.

From the post, ZestyCODLeaks mentions that the channel has known about the event for some time. Apparently this major event includes an X2 label, and it will be coming out soon for Call of Duty players. The X2 event will have "ambushes" and an "armored train," though whether it will live up to the Call of Duty 2021 wish list is unknown. It can be seen from the leaked shot in the tweet how multiple lines refer to X2, such as br_x2_bomb_quest.gsc and br_gametype_x2.gsc.

Though this may seem inconsequential to the average gamer, ZestyCODLeaks makes a case for the allegation. Originally, the reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War came from within another Call of Duty title. Within the game's data Black Ops Cold War was labeled as x1_fin, very similar to the x2 notation that is popping up in the leaks. From some reports, a cutscene will play after this event which could potentially be a trailer for a new game. The dataminer believes it will happen soon, an implication that the reveal could be during Season 4 despite lacking an official date.

At this point, it is practically an expectation that Activision will be showing off another Call of Duty game. Even with the publisher confirming integration with Warzone, it is difficult to say when or how it will happen. That said, it does look like ZestyCODLeaks has a solid lead with the recent Twitter post. It is not uncommon for behind-the-scenes data to follow a consistent format for efficiency. With Call of Duty reveals having a track record, chances are the 2021 version will follow this method too.

Even with the rumors, it is possible that this could just be another false flag for the future title. Even the data revealed through Twitter does not have any indication that it will appear in Season 4 of Warzone. There is always the chance that development troubles could delay Call of Duty 2021 for some time as well. In any case, those looking out for the new Call of Duty game have some more support that it will be shown off soon.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
