Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare's Season 3 is in full swing, with plenty of new guns, maps, and battle pass rewards to reap. One of the most exciting new additions to the game is the Renetti pistol, based on the real-world Beretta M9. As of Season 3, the Renetti is easily the best sidearm in the game, outclassing every other pistol in practically every metric that matters. It is unlocked relatively early on in the battle pass too, making it a very attractive choice.

The Renetti is so useful for Warzone because it is basically capable of being a pocket primary, freeing up the primary weapon slot for a more specialized weapon, like a sniper rifle or DMR. The same goes for Modern Warfare, where the Renetti can easily hold its own in close quarters, improving the user's mobility and freeing up loadout slots for plenty of new options. The Renetti has the hallmark of a great weapon- versatility. It can fill a mid-range role for someone who wants to use a primary shotgun or shield, or a close range role for someone with a focused long-range weapon.

Don't Nerf the Renetti

With the right attachments, the Renetti can be very overpowered, and many players are bracing for a nerf to their dearly beloved pistol. However, the Renetti makes a better case for buffing other sidearms, rather than getting a heavy-handed nerf itself. Before the Renetti, sidearms were largely a pain to use and had a hard time competing with the practicality of carrying a launcher. Other than adding shotgun rounds to the .357 revolver, most pistols in the game were a poor excuse for a backup weapon.

The Renetti instantly became an S-Tier Modern Warfare weapon because of its wide-ranging capabilities, but that alone does not warrant a nerf. The Renetti can do the ideal job of a sidearm by rounding out a loadout to make up for the primary weapon's weaknesses. The Renetti has more viable builds than most primaries, but still can't quite keep up with the power of most primary weapons, meaning it still fits into its niche as a backup option.

Renetti Builds for Warzone

The Renetti has a ton of attachments, but a few stand out as the most important. Firstly, the MK3 burst-fire barrel is the primary reason that the Renetti is as strong as it is. With burst fire and a Lightweight or Match Grade trigger, the weapon can achieve a fire rate that puts some SMGs to shame. 21 and 27 round magazines can help the Renetti sustain fire for longer, while either of the FTAC STATUS CS-3 or CS-X stocks can reduce the gun's recoil to near zero. An XRK Speed grip can help recoup some of the handling speed losses that the stocks incur, but a stock does prevent the use of an under-barrel laser. Lasers, optics, and muzzles are not the most important attachments for the Renetti regardless.

The first Renetti build to consider is its OP Akimbo setup. The Akimbo perk, MK3 Burst barrel, 27 round mags, 1MW laser, and Lightweight or Match Grade trigger will boost fire rate to a maximum and shrink hipfire radius to a minimum. At close range, this setup is genuinely overpowered, able to tear through any opponent in a terrifying instant. Pairing this build with a powerful DMR or sniper primary is akin to being able to whip out a full-strength shotgun or SMG at a moment's notice.

A similar option for players who want a bit more control is a quick-draw build, perfect for sprinting around corners and shooting faster than the enemy can raise their weapon. The MK1 Competition barrel, XRK Speed grip, SMW laser, the Lightweight trigger, and a perk of choice will do away with 3-round bursts but provide rapid, controlled, close-range stopping power instead. On tiny maps, and especially in hardcore mode, a build like this will provide endless frustration to anyone on the business end.

Lastly, the Renetti also benefits from very little recoil and great controllability. That means that it can easily make up for short-range primaries and compete at a respectable mid-range. A balanced SMG-range build would include a MK3 Burst barrel, 21-round mags, XRK Speed grip, FTAC CS-3 stock, and a Match Grade trigger. This balanced build will be the most versatile and generally functional setup. For something akin to a pocket FAMAS, a 3-4X zoom optic of choice, Burst barrel, XRK Pro grip, FTAC CS-X stock, and Match Grade trigger will allow the Renetti to go up against the occasional AR and come out on top, while still maintaining a very respectable degree of mobility and ADS-speed.
