While Call of Duty: Warzone continues to be massively popular in the world of Battle Royale games, the free to play mode underwent significant changes at the start of the most recent changes. As leaks predicted, the Zombie infestation in Verdansk got a lot worse, leading to a special event that ultimately had the map nuked and destroyed. In its wake rose a 1980s inspired version of Verdansk, which reimagined many existing areas while also adding plenty of new hot spots.

It seems Activision had more than retro aesthetics planned alongside the 80s version of Verdansk, as the season has also brought about numerous crossover teases. In fact, just recently, the official Call of Duty Twitter account confirmed that 80s action franchise Rambo was coming to the game through a new Operator inspired by Sylvester Stallone's iconic move character. While the official reveal seems to be planned for May 20, fans may have gotten an early look at some upcoming DLC plans.

Over on the Call of Duty: Warzone subReddit, a user by the name of _JohnnyUtahBrah posted an image of John McClane and Rambo as they appear in game. While still technically unofficial, the operators do go hand in hand with the recent teases from Activision as to their Warzone inclusion. Rambo wears his iconic red bandana, while John McClane can be seen in his dirty white tanktop.

Fan response to the potential character reveals has been mixed at best. Many in the comments are disappointed with the proportions of the characters, especially with John McClane's large head and smaller body. As for Rambo, fans have pointed out that he looks incredibly thin compared to how he actually looks in the movies. It also probably doesn't help that Rambo was previously added as a DLC character to Mortal Kombat 11, so fans already have expectations of how a detailed version of the character should look in a modern video game.

This crossover is likely going to be the first of many as other rumors have begun circulating in the community regarding even more 80s icons being added. A prominent Call of Duty leaker recently indicated that The Terminator would also be coming to the game, while Snake Plissken has been another movie character rumored to be arriving at some point as well. Either way, having iconic skins like this in the game would be a huge way to make money for Activision through its in-game bundles so while nothing has been officially declare yet, fans shouldn't be too surprised.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
