Longshots are a frequent show of skill that Call of Duty: Warzone players share on social media. From unimpressive headshots to massive distances against moving targets, they are all great examples of expert digital marksmen. While most longshots require a player to see their target, this Call of Duty: Warzone fan landed a shot far past his system's visibility.

Verdansk is a massive map, and systems can only render sections of the world at a time. Every platform has a max render distance, and this distance is limited solely based on system hardware. While Call of Duty: Warzone marksmen are generally impressive, most of them require the player to actually see their target.

An image posted to Reddit by EchoEchoGolf showcases the pop-up text after an impossible shot. The player is a PS4 fan, and their system has a max render distance of roughly 800m. What makes this image particularly interesting is that the Call of Duty: Warzone longshot reads at 1,002.72m which is far beyond the 800m limit. In short, the player managed to fire a shot from on top of the dam and eliminate a player that was not even visible. While there is no clip, the image itself shows that the kill was clean and the elimination well earned.

Reception in the comments is mixed, and most fans would have wanted to see a clip of an impossible shot like this. Although this is not a Call of Duty: Warzone record, it is still impressive for a PS4 player to hit such an impossible shot. The PS4 system can sometimes struggle to render even close proximity targets, and that is provided the sniper reticle appears at all.

There are some players who believe that this is a sign of a cheat and have promptly reported this player. While it is possible, the probability is that this is authentic as the player seems legitimately shocked that they managed to hit the target. Overall, Call of Duty: Warzone longshot fans  are sharing tales of their endeavors at hitting close to 1k meters.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a game of skill, perseverance, and a dash of luck. While the random factors of the game make it consistently interesting, players are constantly on guard for anything that could be broken within the match. Call of Duty: Warzone's history of hackers makes the community cautious, but it does not ruin the pure surprise found in players performing the impossible.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
