Call of Duty: Warzone is one of those games where players need to constantly evolve their strategies in order to stay competitive, and one player thinks he has a new winning plan. PC player “NoWh3re” posted a video on Reddit that shows his strategy, but it may not be as “foolproof” as he claims.

The overall idea of Warzone is the basic free-for-all elimination as the playable map becomes smaller and smaller. This can be done solo or with a group of friends. The strategy in question is not for the game itself, but for the Gulag, which is where players go when they die. In a normal match, players get one chance to get back into the game by fighting in a small room against one other killed player, where the winner returns to the fight and the loser is out for good—or until teammates spend cash to revive them.

Gulag matches are normally straightforward, where both players have the same basic weapon and will die in only a few hits. If the players take too long—usually because someone is hiding from the other—a capture point appears in the center of the room to force the players to fight. Many players get stressed by being unable to locate the opponent and tend to become careless. This is where NoWh3re’s strategy comes into play, as we see him rush straight to this point and hide around the corner. Once the timer starts for the capture point, we see his opponent panic and run into the area where NoWh3re is already waiting not with a gun, but his fists. Since melee is more accurate at such a close range, the fight ends pretty quickly, and the strategist is thrown back into the game.

Now, this plan has two major ways it can fail. The first issue is that any battle-hardened veteran knows not to panic when the capture point appears, so this strategy really depends on the opponent’s recklessness to win. The other issue is the same that any strategy has: Once a player shows the world, the world then knows. Now that this video is going viral, players are aware that this is a strategy people are trying out and therefore can counter it.

Whether this plan works or fails, it is definitely a new strategy that players can add to their book when they feel like trying something new.
