In the short time since its release, Call of Duty: Warzone has already broken huge numbers. The last Warzone count puts it past 15 million players, and as such, it should come as no surprise that a number of exploits have been discovered for the game.

There are a variety of "cheats" and exploits players can do to turn the tide to their advantage, from helping their allies in the Gulag, exploiting and hiding in the gas permanently, and earning Call of Duty: Warzone kills before even landing. Twitch streamer Lirik, for example, recently demonstrated the latter in a remarkably tenacious manner that shows how effective the tactic can be.

Unlike most battle royale games, Call of Duty: Warzone players have access to a pistol before they even land, making it possible for players to cut their parachute and fire on others while mid-air. This is definitely unique, but it hasn't been well-received, with many calling for the developer to make some changes.

That said, it's not the easiest to pull off, as it requires players to be able to draw a bead on their enemy while falling and hitting enough shots to down them before landing. Lirik, however, shows how effective this is when done properly.

Lirik's opponent quickly realized he was being shot at, so he cut his parachute, moved, and re-deployed it in order to escape. While this would likely be more than enough to escape most Call of Duty: Warzone opponents, Lirik stayed on his tail and kept him in his sights, managing to stack enough shots between it all to down him mid-air and send him to the Gulag respawn before ever landing on the battle royale map.

There's no doubt such a kill in Call of Duty: Warzone requires a high level of skill, but it does seem likely Infinity Ward will address this. Given its track record with Modern Warfare updates, that seems like a safe bet, and it seems like a relatively easy fix. Perhaps the most direct would just be to make it impossible to draw a weapon until landing, but for now, fans should be wary of their opponents from the get-go.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
