Solos have been added to Call Of Duty: Warzone, but that still doesn't mean you're always going to have the benefit of having a full team. Whether it be because you like the challenge of solo vs. squads, you don't happen to have two other friends (sadface), or because everybody else on your team is dead, sometimes you're going to have to figure things out on your own. That can be challenging and feel a bit like fighting uphill (especially if your enemies happen to be on a hill), but that doesn't mean that it's an impossible task.
Here are ten tips for giving yourself the best chance in those outnumbered fights; some specifically for queuing on your own, and some for when teammates are dead:
10 PLAY SMART
First things first, don't be dumb. You know when you're doing something that you shouldn't be doing, so when everything is riding on you and you alone, maybe listen to that little voice in your head?
There are a ton of things that go into playing as smart as possible when up against way too many enemies that we'll get into throughout this list, but the biggest thing is to just take a deep breath and use your head.
9 PLAY UNPREDICTABLE
This may seem like strange advice after the above tip, but there can be a method to your madness. If you're up against a team of three, they don't have to play even average to probably win a straight-up gunfight. Simply holding a staircase or a tight angle likely isn't going to work out nearly as well as it would if you had some teammates, so you might be better suited to do those "brainless" plays that might get you into a position your enemies aren't expecting.
It's by no means a cure-all for fighting multiple people and is absolutely going to backfire fairly often, but sometimes, it's your only chance.
8 ALL THAT MONEY IS YOURS
One of the nice things about playing without a full squad is the fact that all of the money you have, you get to keep!
You won't have to worry about divvying money up so everybody can buy something or saving up to bring a teammate back; you're free to buy whatever cool Killstreaks, Loadouts, or whatever else you want without any guilt.
7 UAV
One of the most valuable things to buy with all of that money for someone playing solo/as a two-player squad is a UAV. One or two fewer people means you've got fewer eyes to look around the map with, and fewer eyes mean you're going to be seeing fewer enemies before they see you.
A UAV is going to offset this disadvantage somewhat, though it is for a short time. Make sure to save it for those times you really need it.
6 BE WILLING TO MOVE
As mentioned before, it's not always going to be possible to easily hold a rooftop or some other advantageous position when you find yourself outnumbered. An enemy team can pretty easily just throw bodies up a staircase and overwhelm you, not really giving you a chance to win the engagement unless you can get a couple of them with some kind of explosive.
When getting pushed, don't be afraid to bail from your position in search of greener pastures; it might help you live longer.
5 ROOFTOPS
Rooftops are the easiest place for a solo player to live, in most cases, for a multitude of reasons. For one, a rooftop is going to give you a really good lay of the land, letting you get a pretty good idea of the goings-on around you in order to make the best decisions.
It also gives you that super-easy escape in jumping off the roof towards (hopefully) safety!
4 KITE THOSE MULTI-TEAM ENGAGEMENTS
There are going to be a lot of situations where you've got a front-row seat to a couple of enemy teams going at it. This can be a blessing, or it can be a curse; if you draw the ire of each team, you're about to have quite a few guns pointed at you.
On the other hand, if you can manage to keep yourself a tougher target to take down than one of the enemy teams, you'll have ample opportunity to snag yourself a few free kills, and possibly a couple of teams worth of loot.
3 HAVE A CLOSE-RANGE MONSTER
Most of the unwinnable engagements you'll have when playing outnumbered are going to be close-range ones. And in those cases, it's good to have some kind of close-range beast of a gun; something like a Legendary Shotgun, a solid SMG with an extended mag, or something of that sort.
This is by no means a guarantee that you're going to win the fight, but it's going to give you the best chance to do so.
2 SUPPRESSORS
Playing solo/outnumbered generally means you're going to want to fly under the radar more often than not. And, related to the radar, it's usually going to be a good idea to have a suppressor on your weapon.
A suppressor ensures you stay off the radar when you fire your weapon, making it a much tougher task for enemies to locate you than it would otherwise be. This can buy you a precious few extra seconds, which can make all the difference.
1 PATIENCE
Lastly, an outnumbered team is going to have to have some patience. Leaping before looking might work out on a level playing field, especially if you have better mechanical skill than most other players, but nothing is going to beat the damage of two (or three) guns combined against one.
Make smart decisions and choose your engagements wisely. Pick off members of the enemy team that might be separated from teammates and, if possible, set some traps in order to even out the health situation a bit. It's absolutely possible to get that victory as a solo vs. squads; it just takes a bit more work.
