Once considered little more than a waste of time, video games have come along way in the past few decades, especially on the competitive side of things. While casual competitions between friends were common back in the LAN party days, international competitions now offer gamers ways to win millions of dollars, but getting there can be a challenge.

Because of that, companies offering to train players have begun to pop up. Parents can now hire Fortnite tutors to teach their children how to get better at the battle royale, and now Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a similar gig, as a company is looking to hire "Gulag Gurus" to train players to get better at the game -- and for a decent wage to boot.

OnBuy, an internet marketplace with a large variety of products, is looking for talented Warzone players to fill in the position. Gulag Gurus will specifically be tasked with coaching players on how to win one-on-one battles in the Gulag, but also showing their trainees the "nooks and crannies" of Verdansk, while either teaming up with players or spectating them to give them live feedback on what to do.

Warzone players have set impressive kill records, and while getting there will likely take quite a few coaching sessions, the job listing does seem to be legitimate. Not only that, but it pays an impressive £35 an hour, which comes out to $43.78. Skilled players could certainly do worse than that, though there will likely be a fair bit of competition to earn one of the spots, which OnBuy states will have openings dependant on demand for the service.

That's not a bad gig, and players are expected to work remotely, though that's become quite standard as the coronavirus pandemic worsens. Again, it may not be the easiest job to get, and OnBuy even gives a disclaimer that it won't be able to respond to every applicant.

Still, for those looking to earn some extra money during quarantine, helping others level up their Warzone skills may be an excellent way to go, assuming players have the skill to back themselves up.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
