At long last, Season 4 of Modern Warfare and Warzone is out, and millions of eager players are swarming to their favorite shooter to see what new content the battle pass has to offer. Massive changes to Warzone, the addition of fan-favorite character Captain Price as an operator, and the inclusion of classic map Scrapyard are just a few of the exciting changes to the game. Of course, the most exciting additions are the new guns, the lifeblood of Call of Duty gameplay. The new Fennec and CR-56 AMAX are even better than anticipated, so there is a lot to break down for both of them.

The Fennec SMG available at tier 15 of the Modern Warfare and Warzone battle pass is based on the real-world Kriss Vector, which is an iconic weapon in countless games and movies. The gun uses a unique bolt system to force its recoil downwards, giving it its iconic shape and adding to its mystique. The weapon fires at a terrifyingly high rate, and lobs out .45 caliber ammo, easily putting it in competition with the MP5 for the title of best SMG in Modern Warfare and Warzone. While its natural characteristics are already extremely powerful, there are a few key attachments that make it even stronger.

Fennec Attachments for Warzone

Modern Warfare Season 4

One of the things that makes the MP5 such a good choice for Warzone and Modern Warfare is the variety and quality of attachments that it has, which make it one of the most versatile weapons in the game. While the Fennec does not have the versatility and variety of the MP5, it still has some of the very best attachments out of any SMG, or even any gun, available. Even when fully kitted out with accuracy attachments, the Fennec is still extremely fast, and even with all speed attachments, it is extremely accurate. That means there is a lot of freedom when creating setups, as the downsides of any one layout are never too bad.

The best attachments for the Fennec go beyond what many other guns offer. In muzzle devices, the Monolithic suppressor is typically the best option for Warzone because of its added range and stealth capabilities, but the Fennec goes a step above with the ZLR Saber- an even better version of the Monolithic that also improves recoil. In barrels, the ZLR 16" is the standard long-barrel option that improves range, while the ZLR 18" Deadfall is an integrated long barrel and suppressor, combining extra range and silence while only using up a single attachment slot. These options will be key to any good Fennec build.

40-round extended magazines will be essential for Warzone, since the Fennec's high fire rate chews through ammo extremely quickly. There is also the option of adding a 12-round magazine of .45 Hollowpoint ammo that boosts damage, but also limits the gun to two-round bursts. This basically give the weapon six shots, but makes those shots extremely deadly. Commando and Ranger foregrips, Stippled grip tape, and optics are all important to any build, but are nothing new. Lasers are strong but mostly irrelevant in Warzone, but both the CQC and ZLR Blade stocks offer solid benefits, the former in ADS speed and the latter in accuracy.

Best Fennec Builds for Warzone

modern warfare warzone season 4 new guns

The Fennec is first and foremost a close-range, high-DPS weapon for players who want to leap around corners and smatter their foes with gunfire before anyone else can react. However, its options for ranged attachments combined with low recoil make it quite serviceable at longer ranges too. The Fennec has pretty much replaced the MP7's role as the best up-close powerhouse, but it can also compete with the MP5 for range and versatility. It may see a nerf someday, but for now it will be a mainstay of any game, on maps large and small. If left alone, it may well be the best SMG available.

The best Fennec build for Warzone will have to maximize range, stealth, and ammo capacity. A zoom optic of choice, ZLR Saber suppressor, ZLR 16" barrel, 40-round drum magazines, and Commando foregrip or ZLR Blade stock will make the Fennec a force to be reckoned with at surprisingly long ranges. Swapping out the drum mag for the .45 Hollowpoint ammo will make the gun into something of a mini sniper, but won't be too practical. The only downside with this build is having to watch out for running out of ammo, but trading the foregrip or stock for the fully loaded perk can make a huge difference.

The most balanced, all-around build for the Fennec is still extremely strong, but trades a bit of range for better handling. The 18" Deadfall barrel still gives range and silence, but frees up an attachment slot. Combining it with 40-round mags, commando foregrip, an optic of choice, and the fully-loaded perk is a great way to go. For close-range firepower and speed, a mini red dot optic, stippled grip tape, CQC stock, 5MW laser, and Sleight of Hand will dominate, but will fail at the ranges needed for Warzone. The CR-56 AMAX is also a phenomenal gun, but for now players should expect to be seeing a lot of the Fennec.
