The developers have put a ton of work into the graphics of Call of Duty: Warzone. With the goal of a more realistic presentation, the game has sharp textures and unique lighting effects scattered throughout the game. Despite this, a rather realistic lighting effect is causing problems for many Call of Duty: Warzone fans.

Games frequently present sun glare as a reason for fans not to look directly at the sun. It can often affect aiming, reflect off of objects, and add a minor tint of realism to the game's overall appearance. Despite this, Call of Duty: Warzone's sun glare effect is blinding fans left and right.

This is showcased in a Reddit clip by Glaive001, who had a rather negative encounter with the large ball of light. In the clip, the player turns the corner only to be blinded by the sun's direct glare effect. At first, the player ignores the problem and checks their corners carefully, but it is not long before the sun's reflection on a nearby building fills the screen with light. While this does not result in the player's death, the Call of Duty: Warzone bug has the potential to be game-changing. One wrong reflection effect at the right time could cost a player the match, and for that, many believe it deserves a heavy nerf.

Fans in the comment point out that the player in the clip is using a rather high-end system. This means that multiple graphic settings are placed on high, and this may be a rather niche problem. Despite this, other Call of Duty: Warzone bug reports voice a similar complaint on console and lower-end systems.

Some players expect a minor fix with the next season update, mainly due to the setting differences on Rebirth Island not being balanced with Verdansk. Call of Duty: Warzone previously updated the lighting factors across the game, and this may be an unintended side effect of that patch. While it did brighten Verdansk, it also affected Rebirth Island's general lighting situation.

According to the developer Trello board, there is no fix in the works. Fans who encounter major issues regarding the game's lighting are recommended to try tweaking the graphics settings but otherwise reporting the problem to Activision. Call of Duty: Warzone is found on multiple platforms making the graphics different for each fan. This makes a patch difficult to predict, but many hope that help is on the way.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
