Call of Duty: Warzone just passed its one-year anniversary. Since the game's launch, dozens of weapons have been added and a lot of weapons have been hit with balancing changes. The meta in Warzone is a lot different than it was just a few weeks ago. Almost every meta Warzone weapon was coincidentally the weapon with the best recoil.

Verdansk is an expansive map, and gamers are commonly fighting players at 100 meters or more. As a result, primary weapons need to be controllable at extended ranges. Warzone is currently in a sniper support FFAR and burst AUG meta. Once Raven decides to balance these weapons, the most likely candidates to move into the top tier are the low recoil and consistent weapons in this article. The AUG and M16 would have been included in this list, but with a nerf likely coming soon, the burst weapons were excluded.

Updated March 29th, 2021 by Payton Lott: Warzone is an ever-evolving and expanding Battle Royale with a lot of weapon options that are constantly being balanced. Because of this, some weapons have their recoil values altered in a negative (or in some instances) positive way. This list will be updated extensively as new weapon metas develop and as subsequent patches come out that better balance the guns available in Verdansk.

Grau

Grau Warzone

There is no surprise that the Grau is one of the most consistent weapons from range in Warzone. Infinity Ward added a slight amount of horizontal kick when the weapon was nerfed, but it is still one of the easiest weapons to control. Players should stay away from the no-stock attachment, as that will have a huge effect on the magnitude of recoil.

While the Grau no longer has the insane long-distance time to kill, it is still in the middle of the pack among ARs at range. Unlike most of the other fully auto weapons, the gun's theoretical time to kill will be very close to in-game time to kill because of its accuracy. Players can either use the VLK for better target acquisition or equip rubberized grip tape to eliminate some of the added horizontal bounce.

Kilo 141

Many players in the community wish they could go back to the Kilo meta. Things were good before the R9-0, DMR, FFAR, and AUG had to mess everything up. When the gun was nerfed, all Raven touched was the long-distance damage ranges for Warzone. Many players and content creators did not realize that the Kilo's range stats in Warzone were better than in multiplayer. It is unclear when the damage variance was added to the game, but it was impactful.

After the nerf, the Kilo is no longer the long-distance laser beam it once was. However, within about 40 meters, it will still down enemies at a competitive time to kill. The gun has very little side-to-side bounce and the slightest amount of vertical recoil.

Bullfrog

call of duty loadout guide

The Bullfrog will be a meta SMG once the FFAR is nerfed. It has one of, if not the best, recoil plots of all the SMGs. Players can melt enemies from extended ranges with the gun. It is a matter of preference, but the iron sights can get in the way while fighting enemies that are further away. The Bullfrog will probably be a better sniper support weapon than a point-blank secondary, as the MP5s and MAC-10 will still edge it out up close. Outside of ten meters, the Bullfrog is dominant and extremely easy to control. Players can pair the gun with the Kar and decimate lobbies.

MP7

MP7 - 9 - COD Warzone Pro Weapons

The MP7 is a unique weapon because it has been viable or borderline viable since the game was launched. The gun is one of the few SMGs that can hang with assault rifle TTKs at range. The MP7's recoil pattern is almost entirely vertical, making the gun easy to control at any range. Because it is not the fastest killing gun up close, few players use it in Warzone. Future balancing changes could bring the MP7 back into the top tier as a sniper support gun because of its versatility.

Bruen MK9

The Bruen is yet another dethroned meta weapon that is on the cusp of being back in the top tier. Infinity Ward made almost the exact changes to the Bruen as they did to the Grau. Still, even with a slight amount of horizontal kick, the gun has very good stability for a light machine gun. The weapon has good range damage values and players can put on rubberized grip tape to improve recoil even further. Players will need to decide if they want the tac laser for boosted ADS speed or rubberized grip tape improved recoil control.

FiNN LMG (XRK Longshot Advantage)

Almost no one uses the FiNN in Warzone. The lack of a headshot multiplier and stock 75 round magazine do limit the weapon to some extent. Despite these issues, the FiNN is an excellent weapon with essentially no recoil. The key is to use the Longshot Advantage barrel instead of the Harrier Adverse barrel.  The FiNN is a dark horse to enter the meta if there are some nerfs to the top weapons in the coming weeks.
