Call of Duty: Warzone has established itself as one of the definitive battle royales on the market. Its mission and money systems mixed with the classic Call of Duty gunplay has made Warzone a complete joy. While the game is fantastic in many regards, it is still not perfect.

In fact, there are many things other battle royales do that would make Warzone even more enjoyable than it already is. With that being said, here are 10 things Call of Duy: Warzone should borrow from other battle royales.

10 Map Variation

Since Warzone hit the market, fans of the game have loved Verdansk for its versatility. When dropping, players can choose areas that best fit their play style. For instance, Storage Town is a great area to fall for close-quarters gunfights, while the Airport and its surrounding area are more open for snipers to take advantage of.

The map is even for every style of player, but Warzone enthusiasts have been playing the same map for over 4 months. Although the map is great, the lack of changes has created a sense of repetition. A great game to look at for inspiration is Fortnite. Since its initial release, Fortnite has changed its map several times. Not only does it refresh things for current players, but it also works as an event to bring back players that were feeling tired of the game. Updating Verdansk or adding another map, similar to how Activation already does with its regular multiplayer, would give players a new reason to explore.

9 Interactive Water

Before Call of Duty released Warzone, the first-person shooter franchise had dipped its toes in the battle royal genre a year prior. Blackout was loved by many gamers that prefer Call of Duty's Black Ops series. While the game was enjoyable, with a free-to-play model and crossplay, Warzone has been far more successful at claiming an audience.

Although Warzone has done well at improving the battle royale genre, Call of Duty has left out something that made Blackout special: The interactive water. During a game in Blackout, players can get in fights that take place completely underwater. While this reduces players' visibility, it adds variety to the gunplay that just is not seen elsewhere.

8 No Health Regeneration

One thing that has been a staple in Call of Duty since its inception is regenerating health, however, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 challenged the status quo by adding health stems. While some players were taken back by the change, battle royales, like Player Unknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, already were using a system similar to Blackout.

Health stems not only force players to scavenger for more supplies, thus reducing the amount of camping, but it also adds another element to the game. When players are in a gunfight, they are faced with a choice between reloading, healing, or adding armor.

7 Destruction

One thing that has always been great about Fortnite is the amount of destruction there is. Although it would be very different, Warzone could implement a destruction component that would change the game for the better.

Imagine being in the open field by farmland while a sniper keeps taking shots from a building. Instead of trying to dodge each shot, players could pull out an RPG and blow up the wall the sniper is hiding behind. It would be a thrilling way to even the odds.

6 More Versatile Movement System

One thing lacking in Warzone is its movement system. Although it is great to parachute off of a building, there is no interesting way to move in the game. While Blackout has the grapple gun and Fortnite has the launch pad, Warzone players are stuck to ladders and stairs.

In addition to offering fewer ways to engage with an enemy, without tools like the ones mentioned, if a player makes the wrong turn while the zone closes, they can get trapped. Simply adding something to propel a player up in the air would remove an element of frustration.

5 Crossovers & Events

While Warzone has a season system to give players an incentive to continue playing, similar to Fortnite, one thing that it lacks is the number of crossovers and events. Warzone has added many skins throughout its lifespan, but none are as cool as playing as Thanos, Batman, Captain America, or John Wick.

Although Fortnite became famous for its gameplay, the game stays relevant because it continues to add updates and events that bring players back into the fold. Warzone could easily do something similar. How cool would it be to play Warzone as the Terminator?

4 Friendly Fire

Friendly fire is one of those topics that will divide a fanbase down the middle. On one hand, players do not want it because it allows teammates to target their allies; conversely, it forces players to be more strategic with their shots.

PUBG and Blackout both have friendly fire, and it changes the game significantly. No longer can a group of four teammates run up a set of stairs firing forward. Since Warzone is Call of Duty's more grounded battle royale, it makes sense that the game would turn on friendly fire.

3 Third-Person Mode

PUBG Item Drop

Call of Duty has, and always will be, a first-person shooter. That does not mean that the franchise could not dip its toes in the third-person genre. Although the battle royale genre has shifted to first-person shooters, it started with third-person games like Fortnite and PUBG.

Adding a third-person option would give fans something new to try out while waiting for a new map or future updates.

2 Hanging Out In Vehicles

In some battle royales, there are a variety of vehicles. While Warzone has vehicles, the gunplay while inside is extremely frustrating. In PUBG and Blackout, passengers have the ability to shoot in any direction they wanted. This is because, unlike Warzone, their players have the option to hang outside the window.

While this makes players more vulnerable to bullets, it also gives them a way to fight back against a trailing car. In contrast, some of the vehicles in Warzone force their players to shoot out the front or the side of the car. This may seem small, but it puts players at a large disadvantage while being tailed by an enemy.

1 Zombies

Over the years, Call of Duty has become as well known for its Zombies Mode as it is for its regular multiplayer. While Blackout integrated zombies in a clever and fun way, they have yet to appear in Warzone.

Although Warzone aims to be a more grounded battle royal, zombies would be a nice change of pace. Whether it was a timed mode or a permanent addition to the game, introducing zombies to the title would be a fun celebration of the series' history.
