Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the biggest battle royale titles in the genre. The free-to-play title gives players a more realistic-looking battle royale game than other titles like Fortnite and Apex LegendsCall of Duty: Warzone also features a wide variety of cosmetics from gun skins, operators, and attachments. Some of the cosmetics, especially those offered through Call of Duty: Warzone's in-game store, are further away from the realistic style that players get in the base game, but the game recently announced that it is getting its first crossover in the form of an 80s action hero event that will let players play as John Rambo and John McClane.

The event starts later this week and is a big new step for the game's cosmetics. Of course, Rambo also made an appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable character, but John McClane is a bit rarer in video games. Some Call of Duty: Warzone fans were disappointed by leaked images of the skins, there is a lot of other content included with the event, such as a recreation of Nakatomi Plaza in Verdansk. The event also begs the question of what other 80s action heroes would feel right at home in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Lethal Weapon's Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh Would Feel Right at Home in Call of Duty: Warzone

Martin Riggs from the Lethal Weapon movies is one of the most iconic unruly cops in movies. He quickly became a beloved character thanks to his witty lines and heart of gold on top of being an awesome action hero that pulled off some incredible action stunts. With his witty demeanor and the iconic face of Mel Gibson, Martin Riggs would be easily recognizable in among Call of Duty: Warzone's stable of operators.

Of course, Lethal Weapon's Roger Muraugh, played by Danny Glover, would also be a great addition to pair with Martin Riggs. Muraugh is just as iconic as Riggs and the two would work excellently together in a Call of Duty: Warzone squad for players that want to match up. His dry temperament counter to Riggs' more chaotic approach to situations would give some fun voice lines for players to hear as they run around Verdansk, and his 80s suit would stand out from Call of Duty: Warzone's other cosmetics. For Lethal Weapon's limited-time event surrounding their release, it would be great to see the game put a twist on its Plunder game mode. The mode normally sees players racing to be the first team to reach $1 million. Lethal Weapon's inclusion could bring a great twist on the mode with a law enforcement twist or even splitting the match into a massive game of cops and robbers.

Dutch Could Be Call of Duty: Warzone's Apex Predator

Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most iconic actors of 80s action movies, and a majority of his roles would feel right at home in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, Dutch from 1987's Predator would fit the best. Not only does the character feel right at home in military garb, but he also is well known for scrounging what he can from the wilderness to survive his duel against the Predator. His creative solution to problems and ability to make the best of bad situations would mesh well with players' efforts to scrounge together their preferred Call of Duty: Warzone loadout. Dutch's nemesis of the Predator could also be added to Call of Duty: Warzone matches during the limited-time event that could add an NPC encounter unlike anything else in the game.

It also is easy to imagine a variety of skins for Dutch, complete with his battle-worn appearance after his confrontation with the Predator on top of one with him covered in mud for some added stealth. If that isn't enough, Dutch's inclusion would be well worth it simply to hear "Get to the chopper" whenever a player jumps into one of Call of Duty: Warzone's many vehicles. Schwarzenegger's characters have made appearances in other games before, including the Terminator being added to Mortal Kombat 11, but Dutch has never branched out from Predator titles and it seems like now would be a perfect time for him to do so.

Ellen Ripley Could Survive Call of Duty: Warzone

While Ellen Ripley was already featured in a Fortnite crossover, she would also feel right at home in Call of Duty: Warzone. In the Alien franchise, she goes from a logical survivor in Alien to a hardened military squad-leader in Aliens. With her experience facing off against Xenomorphs, the human enemies of a battle royale would be no problem for Ripley. With a multitude of iconic lines as well, Ripley would be a fun operator for players to run around Verdansk as.

Of course, Ripley also would have multiple costume options from the series of movies, and could even bring some of the franchise's iconic weapons to the game as unique blueprints. Running around Verdansk with an M41A pulse rifle would bring a whole new layer of cool to the battle royale. Of course, the Alien franchise also has multiple of its own video games throughout the industry, so Ripley would feel right at home making an appearance. Her inclusion would also open up an event to a great limited-time addition of a Xenomorph to Verdansk similar to what could be done with the Predator, but would also allow for some awesome sci-fi locations and assets to be brought into the map for the first time.

Of course, there are a lot of other 80s action heroes that would make great additions to the game. With Call of Duty: Warzone's upcoming 80s action hero event, the door has been opened to future crossover events. There are a lot of exciting possibilities out there, and it will be great to see what all gets added to the battle royale. With the game's Season 3 Reload right around the corner, hopefully, Season 4 will bring some more exciting new crossovers for players to enjoy in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
