It's a big day for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans as season 3 has finally arrived. The latest season added plenty of new content into the game including a host of new multiplayer maps, bug fixed, the return of Echo 3-1 aka Alex, and much more. The popular game mode Warzone is also getting an influx of new updates such as Quads to keep its impressive large number of players coming back day after day.

In fact, with the arrival of Season 3 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision took a moment in a new press release to reveal some of the surprising and impressive stats regarding Warzone. Since the game launched, and with the boost from Warzone, Modern Warfare players have already logged 2.4 billion hours online combined between multiplayer and the battle royale. It's a staggering number that is no doubt only going to climb following the launch of season 3.

In speaking to the popularity the game has managed to achieve, Infinity Ward co-studio head David Stohl further went on to highlight all of the free content coming to players during season 3 over the next couple of months. Ryan Burnett, who serves as a Senior Executive Producer at Raven Software echoed the sentiments while also revealing the team has enjoyed seeing all of the reactions from the community regarding the upcoming seasonal content.

Call of Duty Jump

Warzone continues to be a boon for Activision and its Call of Duty developers. The Battle Royale mode not only launched as a free to play mode, it only took 10 days to reach a staggering amount of players. According to the official Call of Duty Twitter, Call of Duty: Warzone managed to reach 30 million players. While Blackout, Activision's first Battle Royale attempt, was largely seen as a success, it never reached the heights that Warzone now finds itself in, likely due to the fact that it was only available to those who purchased the base game.

As previously mentioned, the big addition to Warzone is the ability for four players to squad up and drop in. However, Activision is teasing even more content from new vehicle skins and new limited time game modes like scopes and Scatter Guns, which places an emphasis on sniper rifles and shotguns. Dataminers and leakers have also indicated that a Duos mode could also be on the horizon for squads of two, however, nothing official has confirmed anything like that as of yet.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
