The JAK-12 Shotgun is the latest weapon to be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone. Having arrived in patch 1.28, the shotgun is based off the real-life AA-12, which has featured in many previous Call of Duty titles. The main feature of the JAK-12 is its capability for fully-automatic fire, allowing it to quickly devastate in close-quarters.

The JAK-12 is the sixth shotgun in Modern Warfare and Warzone, joining the Model 680, R9-0, 725, Origin 12, and VLK Rogue. To unlock the JAK-12, players will need to get three hip-fire shotgun kills in seven different multiplayer matches. This can be done fairly quickly, as the matches don't need to be played all the way through.

Topside Attachments

The JAK-12 follows the standard pattern of AA-12 lookalikes in the Call of Duty series. It hits hard and fires fast, and can be devastating at close-range. However, like most weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, picking the right Attachments can completely change how the JAK-12 plays. Whether building for mobility, close-range power or even anti-vehicle ability, knowing the Attachments is essential.

Muzzle

The JAK-12 has a wide range of Muzzles available, but the most interesting is probably the FORGE TAC Marauder, which gives increased Damage Range and Tighter Peller Spread in addition to Sound Suppression.

  • Breacher Device
  • Flash Guard
  • Tactical Suppressor
  • Muzzle Brake
  • Compensator
  • Choke
  • FORGE TAC Marauder
  • Monolithic Suppressor

Barrel

In choosing JAK-12 Barrels players will have to decide if they want to focus on up-close damage or longer range flexibility. The JAK Urban King increases Pellet Spread and Movement Speed, while the 2800 and 3600 both tighten Pellet Spread and increased Damage Range.

  • ZLR J-2800 Influx
  • JAK Urban King
  • ZLR J-3600 Torrent

Laser

The JAK-12 gets the standard three Call of Duty Laser Attachments. The 5mW Laser buffs hip-fire, the Tac laser is better when aiming down sights, and the 1mW Laser shortens the time between sprinting and firing.

  • 1mW Laser
  • 5mW Laser
  • Tac Laser

Optic

The JAK-12 can fit almost any sort of sight, but players will probably want to stick to Call of Duty's close-range Optics most of the time.

  • Solozero Optics Mini Reflex
  • Corp Combat Holo Sight
  • Aim-Op Reflex Sight
  • Cronen LP945 Mini Reflex
  • Operator Reflex Sight
  • Scout Combat Optic
  • PBX Holo 7 Sight
  • VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Viper Reflex Sight
  • APX5 Holographic Sight
  • G.I. Mini Reflex
  • Cronen C480 Pro Optic
  • Monocle Reflex Sight
  • Solozero NVG Enhanced

Underside Attachments

modern warfare 2 remastered aa12 shotgun

There are a few interesting underside attachments for the JAK-12, but it's in the special ammunition that things get really exciting.

Stock

The most notable thing in the JAK-12 Stock options is there's no No Stock option, so players should be ready to take a hit to their mobility. All three of the Stocks boost aiming ability in one way or another. The JAK Rabbit Ultralight is particularly interesting, as it boosts Aim Walking Movement Speed.

  • ZLR Tsunami
  • JAK Rabbit Ultralight
  • FSS Power Wrap

Rear Grip

The JAK-12 has the standard three grip options. The Rubberized Grip Tape might be the best choice for the JAK-12, particularly for players building for medium-range flexibility.

  • Granulated Grip Tape
  • Rubberized Grip Tape
  • Stippled Grip Tape

Ammunition

Here's where things get interesting. As well as the 20 and 32-Round Drum Mags, the JAK-12 comes with three special ammo types. Slug rounds are solid rounds that give the auto-shotgun increased range and damage. Dragon's Breath rounds are incendiaries that deal fire damage over time, and FRAG-12 rounds have an explosive AoE effect.

  • 20 Round Drum Mags
  • 8 Round Slug Mags
  • 8-R Dragon's Breath
  • 8 Round FRAG-12 Mags
  • 32 Round Drum Mags

Underbarrel

The JAK-12 gets the same set of foregrips as most guns in Modern Warfare and Warzone. One thing to remember is that the Merc Foregrip works slightly differently with shotguns. Instead of the standard Hip-Fire boost, it instead lowers recoil and Aim Down Sight Speed.

  • Merc Foregrip
  • Commando Foregrip
  • Operator Foregrip
  • Ranger Foregrip
  • Tactical Foregrip

Perks

There's nothing particularly exciting in the Modern Warfare and Warzone Perk choices for the JAK-12, as they're a pretty standard set.

  • Frangible - Disabling
  • FMJ
  • Frangible - Wounding
  • Recon
  • Fast Melee
  • Heavy Hitter
  • Sleight of Hand
  • Mo' Money
  • Fully Loaded

Vehicle Killer

There are several different effective loadouts for the JAK-12, balancing mobility with close and medium-range firepower. One of the most interesting however takes advantage of the shotgun's incredible strength against vehicles.

Utilizing a Choke Muzzle, ZLR J3600 Torrent Battle, 5mW Laser, FRAG-12 rounds, and Stipple Grip, the JAK-12 can tear apart hard targets. This is useful in Warzone for intercepting enemy vehicles, but is particularly effective against Killstreaks in Modern Warfare. With a safe spot to fire from, the JAK-12 can down a VTOL Jet in as little as 2 magazines.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
