The mid-season addition to Modern Warfare and Warzone is the FiNN LMG, a unique gun unlike anything else added so far. It has the potential to upset the current LMG meta and is going a long way to help this season's guns compete with the magnificent weapons that graced Season 4. After recent balance changes to the BRUEN, the FiNN may just be able to eke out a spot as one of the top LMGs in the game with the right attachments and setup.

Based on the real-world Stoner 96, the FiNN LMG fires 5.56 ammunition at a relatively low rate, making it a very controllable alternative compared to other LMGs in Modern Warfare and Warzone that fire larger bullets much more quickly. However, what the FiNN has going for it is its wide array of attachments that can alter its handling, ammunition type, and fire rate in ways that no other gun in the game can achieve. With barrels that spit flames, a chainsaw grip, and cased telescoped ammunition, the FiNN can be anything from a slow, tactical weapon for Warzone to a sputtering firebrand in hectic Shipment games.

FiNN LMG Attachments for Modern Warfare and Warzone

The FiNN's attachments are what make it so competitive; otherwise, it would be a middling LMG on par with the M91 or SA87. The key to any good weapon in Modern Warfare and Warzone is its versatility, since guns need to be able to fill a wide variety of roles throughout all of the game's maps, modes, and emergent scenarios. Luckily, the FiNN has more attachments than most other weapons in the game, and many of them are completely unique to the new LMG.

The FiNN has the normal array of muzzle attachments, with the Monolithic Suppressor standing out as the best choice for Warzone builds. Likewise, foregrips boil down to the classic Commando for recoil stabilization and Merc for a smaller hipfire radius and better recoil control. Optics and perks are also nothing special, offering the standard array to fit player preference. There is only one laser, the Tac Laser, but it is a vital component in several strong builds for the FiNN.

The most important attachments for the FiNN are its barrel, ammo, and stock options. The FiNN has the most barrel options in the game, with eight choices to select from. The standard barrel keeps the rate of fire low and accuracy high for controlled damage, but the XRK Pro Twist barrel ups the damage range, while the XRK LongShot Advantage boosts damage range even further while reducing mobility. The FTAC VC-8 Harrier barrel boosts ADS speed but loses out on damage range, making it perfect for close quarters. Each of the stock, Pro Twist, LongShot, and Harrier barrels also gets an "Adverse" version, which does the same thing as its normal counterpart, but boosts the rate of fire up to such high speeds that sustained shooting will set the barrel on fire.

The only downsides of barrels that spit hot lead at such a blistering pace that flames leap out the end is that they increase the recoil and go through 75-round belts of ammo in just a few seconds. To pair beautifully with the cool-factor of burning barrels, the FiNN also has the XRK ChainSAW stock, which allows the user to hold the gun at the hip like a chainsaw for better movement speed, hipfire accuracy, and sprint-to-fire speed, all at the expense of being able to aim down sights. 100-round belts of standard 5.56 ammo are also available to make the shooting last longer than the standard 75-round belts, and the inclusion of 100-round and 75-round belts of CT (cased telescoped) ammunition allow for better mobility but reduce damage range and bullet velocity.

FiNN LMG Loadouts for Modern Warfare and Warzone

First and foremost, after unlocking the FiNN and leveling it up to get all the attachments, every player should at least try a chainsaw build for the gun. A Compensator muzzle to reduce recoil, XRK LongShot Adverse Barrel for fast fire rate, 100-round CT ammo belts, the all-important ChainSAW stock, and the Tac Laser will combine to maximize mobility and hipfire accuracy. ADS-ing will slightly improve accuracy, but there won't be any sight picture, making the laser a necessity. This build is perfect for running around a hectic map for a bit of fun.

The ideal FiNN Warzone build might be a bit more staid, but it gets the job done. A VLK 3.0 optic, Monolithic Suppressor, XRK LongShot Advantage barrel, Commando foregrip, and the FMJ perk will max out the LMG's ranged capabilities and give it some extra oomph. A slower rate of fire will help conserve ammo and keep the shooter on target. After the BRUEN LMG was nerfed, the FiNN might just be the next best choice for bringing LMG benefits to Warzone in a relatively compact package.

For a balanced, all-rounder build, an optic of choice, XRK Pro Twist Adverse barrel, Merc foregrip, Tac Laser, and 100-round CT ammo belt will play to all of the FiNN's strengths admirably. In close quarters maps, a lighter, quicker "AR killer" build would include an optic, Harrier Adverse barrel, Commando foregrip, 75-round CT ammo belts, and Tac Laser. A setup like this has the mobility and speed to compete with smaller weapons, but still brings all the pain of high ammo counts and good recoil control. Whatever the case, the FiNN is a great addition to the LMG class, adding some much needed variety.
