Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone players both benefit from a stealthy playstyle. In any mode, knowing the position of the enemy is the best way to secure victory, while being caught off guard means almost certain defeat. With such quick time to kill compared to other shooters, a strong information game combined with quickly and decisively taking the initiative is how most fights are won. Whether it's in Gunfight or Warzone, remaining unseen while tracking down the enemy is far more important to high-level play than just good aim and reflexes.

Stealth is often overlooked in Modern Warfare and Warzone, but there is a reason that almost all of the top Warzone builds include the Monolithic suppressor attachment. Likewise, while night mode realism hasn't made a comeback for some time, staying hidden is hugely important in any such tactical game mode on large maps. Along with perks like Cold-Blooded and Ghost, the weapon builds detailed here offer the best silence and secrecy, and will leave foes baffled and vulnerable to clandestine surprise attacks from their flanks.

The Two Best Stealth Weapons in Modern Warfare and Warzone

call of duty modern warfare season 4 release date

There are two firearms in Call of Duty that offer the utmost in stealth. Not only are these weapons quiet, but they also have other effects that remove enemy skull markers, get rid of tracers, and ultimately make it almost impossible to determine the origin of the gunshots they issue. The MP5 and M13 are both top-notch weapons, among the very best guns in Modern Warfare and Warzone to begin with. However, they also both have unique attachments that put their stealth capabilities a cut above the rest.

The M13 is a great weapon because of its naturally high mobility, low recoil, and phenomenal headshot multiplier. A high fire rate combined with headshots gives it some of the fastest time to kill possible, but its lower body shot damage means it takes a bit of practice to get used to. For Warzone, the quietest M13 build includes a Monolithic suppressor, the Tempus Marksman barrel, the Commando foregrip, .300 Blackout ammunition, and an optic of choice. The combination of suppressor and .300 Blackout makes for a sound signature that will barely register over normal gunshots, and erases tracers and skull markers that might give away the shooter's position.

Opting for a 60-round magazine along with the Monolithic suppressor is also very silent, but at that point players might be better off choosing a more familiar weapon like the M4A1 or Grau 5.56. For players looking to use a stealth build in Modern Warfare, not just Warzone, opting for the Cyclone integral suppressor for the barrel will free up another attachment slot for the M13 Skeleton stock or Sleight of Hand perk, making the M13 quicker and more adaptable at close range.

The MP5 is still the king of SMGs, despite a recent nerf and the addition of the phenomenal Fennec as a competitor. Part of the MP5's superiority is its versatility, as it has some of the best unique attachments in the game. The MP5 can be even more stealthy than the M13, but does lose out on ranged damage. With a Subsonic Integral suppressor barrel, Commando foregrip, 10mm ammunition, Stippled Grip Tape, and optic of choice, the MP5 will still pack a huge punch while being incredibly mobile. The Subsonic Integral suppressor will remove all tracers and skull markers along with improving ADS speed for a true killer combo.

10mm ammo was just nerfed, however, and it does cause quite a lot of recoil. To reduce recoil and improve magazine size, sticking to 45-round magazines of 9mm ammo may be better for some players. With 9mm ammo, equipping a sidearm that also uses 9mm and has the Fully Loaded perk will max out ammo for both guns, too. Opting for the Monolithic Integral instead of the Subsonic will bring back tracers and skull markers, but does improve the range of the weapon, which may be more favorable in Warzone.

Stealthy Sidearms, Utility, and Novelty Weapons

When caught in a pinch with low ammo, while reloading, or just without a good primary, the secondary weapon is the savior of many players. If stealth is paramount, having a silenced secondary is necessary too. The Renetti pistol is the best sidearm in the game, and it is just as good when silenced. A Lightweight suppressor, Match-Grade trigger, and XRK Pro grip will do to make the Renetti a perfect backup. Opting for a stock, larger magazines, or the Fully Loaded perk if a 9mm SMG is the primary will help balance out any good build.

For a lot more stopping power than either the M13 or the MP5, silencing a FAL is a great way to put some high-damage rounds down range. The FAL is currently a favorite in Warzone, and putting on a Monolithic suppressor, XRK Marksman barrel, Commando foregrip, 30-round magazines, and a zoom optic makes it a great all-rounder. For super close range, a 725 Shotgun with Monolithic suppressor, Tempus 32" Competition barrel, Merc foregrip, Tempus Slimgrip handguard, and Tempus Sport stock will be silent, have blistering ADS, tight pellet spread, and very low recoil. Nothing is more surprising than a silenced shotgun wielder leaping around a corner.

In terms of utility, no launcher can truly be stealthy. However, the new Rytec AMR sniper offers the perfect alternative. Equipped with a silencer and Thermite rounds, the Rytec AMR is adept at taking out vehicles and killstreaks while maintaining a much lower profile than any launcher. Meanwhile, the Crossbow is by nature the stealthiest weapon around. Its trade-offs are a bit too steep to make it the perfect choice, but its always there for a bit of bolt slinging fun in a casual match. Any of the weapons listed here will be great for stealth, but ultimately, finding the right choice relies on what game mode the weapon is for.
