Players who hear the term "battle royale" might think of an entire battalion going all out against each other. Moreover, Activision fans who played a lot of Call of Duty might think of "battle royale" the same way, except with UAVs and tactical missiles. Thankfully, Call of Duty: Warzone makes player imagination a reality with an official battle royale mode with unique weapons, dynamic maps, and new mechanics.

However, battle royale isn't always just about fighting with guns blazing or just camping until there are two players left. In fact, fans looking for a more challenging Warzone experience can take gameplay up a notch and focus on stealth. How does this work, though?

10 Shoot After The Chute

Players are actually able to cut their chute while falling, meaning they can use this opportunity to glide and head towards the drop zone of their choice with better precision. Others even use this drop to draw pistols and fire at other players.

For stealth players, they should consider gliding early on especially if they drop to a location alongside many players. This way, the lack of a visible chute makes it slightly difficult to spot the player for shots. Meanwhile, the added visibility of chutes makes other players easier to identify and locate once everyone makes landfall.

9 Reposition With The Chute

In battle royale matches, positioning remains a pinnacle for survival. After all, players who end up starting in contested zones can leave fights pretty early. However, players can cut their chute to glide into the battlefield. In a way, this method can help players position themselves in the zone.

Additionally, players can actually activate the parachute again to give them a speed boost and help them get precisely to the point in the map they want to be in. For stealth players, positioning is key to stay as quiet and unobtrusive as possible.

8 Stay On Top

If possible, players who want to pursue a stealthier approach should start studying how to land on rooftops early in the game. Moreover, they should start getting to know the highest points on the battlefield to get there and do a quick survey of the map. Additionally, doing this strategy will help them stay on top of the situation.

Eagle-eyed players can use their rifles to spot nearby firefights or lone wolves. As such, these locations can help check for easy kills and even help players know which locations might be risky for them.

7 Take Note Of Flares

Players with a penchant for stealth should pay attention to flares. The game features two flares that automatically shoot up in the sky during the map.

In this case, contract points (Recon) shoot up white flares if a player has begun capturing it. Secondly, all squads release a red flare if they're trying to bring back a player. Moreover, in both situations, stealth players can consider these as signs of choosing whether to pursue the enemy for an ambush in that area or retreat to safety.

6 Spend Wisely, Not Sparingly

Thankfully, Warzone features an in-match cash economy where players can use designated Buy Points to purchase beneficial perks such as loadouts and even Killstreaks to gain the advantage. If players have the money to spend on the Buy Zone, it's advisable they do so to maximize their loadout. For stealth players, using their recommended multiplayer loadout can give them an early advantage in pursuing enemies stealthily.

It's advisable for players to earn their Loadout Drops and Armor Plating for the added offense and defense. Moreover, Cluster Strikes can give any firefight something to worry about as the player makes their escape.

5 UAVs Stack For More Detail

Credits increase in value as squads reach the endgame, as the gas area will inevitably become too small for hiding. However, players in the mid-game should consider spamming UAV to identify "hotspots" to avoid and hide from.

Likewise, teams pursuing the stealth approach can actually pool their resources together to conduct simultaneous UAV abilities, all of which reveal more information about enemies such as where they are pointing. When used wisely, players can easily avoid enemies and ambush them. However, players should think about this carefully, as situations may call for other more useful scorestreaks.

4 Contracts Help Practice The Stalk

Stealth doesn't necessarily mean avoiding contact. Rather, in a battle royale game, stealth means knowing precisely when to strike. The game has something called Contracts that encourage players to hunt an opponent for money.

With this opportunity, stealth players will be forced out of their comfort zone and will need to locate their mark. Moreover, this Contract may eventually lead players to their mark's teammates which, with the right ambush, can score a ton of kills. Other Contracts include Scavenge and Recon, which motivates the player to look for rare drops and special points in the map, respectively.

3 Take Note Of Footsteps

Thanks to improvements in game engines, Warzone serves as an example of realism taken to the next level. Aside from realistic visuals, this action title makes an effort to make its sound as real as possible. Moreover, features such as ambient sound and variation of sound depth can be used from a tactical perspective.

Stealth players should always find a corner or a wall to stay close to. That way, the footsteps of enemies mean combatants are close by but not too close to notice the player. Thanks to this caveat, players may be able to use this opportunity to strike.

2 Use The Gulag As A Radar

Dead players get sent to the Gulag for a fierce 1-on-1 match to determine whether a combatant is worthy of getting back in the field. However, this Gulag isn't just some random attraction, as players can use it to give information to their teams.

Players stuck in the Gulag can take advantage of their observational perks. They can use their observational awareness to create call signs responding to certain moves which, with a coordinated team, can help them eliminate incoming squads before the latter even realize what is coming.

1 Distract To Escape, Pick Off Enemies

Players can also use distractions to catch enemies by surprise or lure them to a trap. For instance, instead of engaging in firefights, players can wreak havoc in an ongoing fight by throwing a random grenade. Moreover, they can observe firefights from afar and steal kills, only to hide immediately after.

Remember, stealth players should only engage whenever it's ideal and for as long as they have an exit. If players have to get out in the open, make sure it's to eliminate a lone enemy but not an entire squad, as the noise can attract unwanted attention.
