An interesting Easter egg was recently discovered in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare connecting the popular online shooter to the now disused Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise. An Easter egg that, with an understanding of the Tony Hawk franchise's history and its relationship to Call of Duty, carries with it quite a bit of nostalgia. The Easter egg was apparently found on an "out of place looking dead body" during Modern Warfare's campaign, showing the logo of Tony Hawk Pro Skater developer Neversoft's logo as a tattoo.
Reddit user GerardB99 posted a screenshot of the tattoo as they found it. The title of the post reads "Neversoft Easter Egg found on out of place looking dead body in the Piccadilly Circus mission," which should be just enough information for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players to start searching for the Easter Egg themselves. The photo GerardB99 posted shows the tattoo on the dead NPC's arm, the speared Neversoft eyeball splashed with a some of the NPC's blood.
The Easter egg may prompt a nostalgic response not just because the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise is now defunct, but also because Neversoft itself has closed. Through its nearly 20-year existence, Neversoft worked on 11 different Tony Hawk projects before shifting gears and working on 7 different Guitar Hero projects. Its final work was done on 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts, as the team was shifted to support other Call of Duty studios with their games.
The dagger, however, is that Neversoft was never closed and its remaining employees were moved to Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward. This Neversoft Easter egg in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may very well have been made by a legacy employee who worked at Neversoft. Ex-Neversoft or otherwise, whoever worked on the Easter Egg is making sure that Neversoft's work carries on, one speared eyeball at a time.

While Neversoft is gone, Infinity Ward carries on. Maybe if enough Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players ask Infinity Ward to take a break from Call of Duty and make a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game, they can prove there's still a demand. For the time being, however, the dream will have to live on solely in the form of a tattoo on a dead NPC in the Piccadilly Circus mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
