After downloading a massive update, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players can now dive into everything season 2 has to offer, including new maps and game modes. There is also plenty to earn as far as new Modern Warfare battle pass rewards go, and new guns—the Grau 5.56 and Striker 45—to check out. Of course, there were also some balance changes made to the game, though notably not as many as past updates.

As far as weapons are concerned, there were only a handful of major tweaks confirmed via the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch notes. Perhaps the biggest of these changes were applied to the Crossbow, which will no longer kill Juggernauts in one blow with the explosive crossbow bolts. Other changes include a kill-tracking fix, some "slight tuning" to its reload speed (with more adjustments on the way), and a damage bug fix related to Deployable Cover.

The SA87 also received a damage buff while fixing its recoil, and the RAM-7 extended mags expanded from 45 to 50. Notably, this is the extent of the weapon changes, so it'll be interesting to see how these influence the Modern Warfare season 2 meta game that will indubitably arise. It is, however, worth mentioning that the devs noted that they are working on a fix for the Solozero NVG Enhanced, as it is supposed to see through smoke and currently isn't. This issue is said to be fixed "shortly!" Interested parties can check out the full Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 2 patch notes here.

call of duty modern warfare update 1.13 patch notes

Alongside the new maps and guns for Modern Warfare, it seems safe to say that these changes will be welcome ones, though it will likely be a few days before it can be determined how big of an effect these changes do have. Still, despite season 2 just beginning, many are looking forward to what's still to come down the road.

The latest trailer, for example, seemingly hints at the upcoming Modern Warfare battle royale mode, which has been heavily requested for some time now. In conjunction with the new maps, the new weapons, and these weapon changes, all Modern Warfare needs to do to keep its player base active is keep the content coming.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
