"Warzone" is an upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game mode inspired by the battle royale genre. There's quite a bit of information available about it even though Infinity Ward hasn't made any official announcements regarding it, aside from a small, insignificant tease in the Season 2 intro cinematic.

No, instead, followers of the game have gained a lot of their insight from glitches, most of which throw unsuspecting players into the unfinished Warzone map. One such glitch has happened again, and the Twitter user that experienced it, Herwig Schmidt, managed to capture some of the things he saw on a short video.

First and foremost, as the game mode loaded up and showcased some of Warzone's various locations, it displayed a large "BETA" icon in blue at the top left corner, which, of course, implies that the mode's map isn't finished yet. In the bottom left corner, it displayed the Warzone logo with the text, "CALL OF DUTY WARZONE" beneath it. It, of course, also had the general lines of intel that play out at the bottom of the screen whenever a player loads into a new map. As for the locations displayed, players may recognize a few from another glitch that allowed them to explore the battle royale map.

Herwig Schmidt doesn't explain what he did to load into the Warzone map. In fact, from the way his tweet reads, it looks like Modern Warfare just loaded him into the game mode of its own accord - an act that he's casually asked Infinity Ward not to ban him over. It's also unclear whether or not Schmidt actually managed to load into the game mode since he cuts the video shortly before it can happen. Nothing he stats in his tweet gives any confirmation either.

Regardless, Infinity Ward and Activision may want to address Warzone sooner rather than later, or get the glitches under control. As it stands now, glitching into the battle royale mode is starting to become somewhat common, and as a result, players are getting more information about the game mode from glitches than they are any official sources. A glitch recorded only yesterday leaked a list of vehicles that will be available in Warzone. If things keep up like this, Activision and Infinity Ward may find that they don't have any surprises left to promote the new game mode with.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
