Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare seems to have more and more bugs crop up every day, from tilting screens and revival via grenades to death by invisible soldiers. One of the most recent issues publicized on the r/modernwarfare subreddit involves players experiencing an obscene amount of glare when looking out a window with a weapon that has Platinum camo, but a developer says this problem has already been fixed.

A video of the screen-covering glare was posted by Reddit user cammywrightlad at about 5:40 a.m. this morning, but by 11:00 a.m. received a response from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Art Director Joel Emslie (who goes by artpeasant on Reddit). Emslie said, "We have fixed this. Coming out in a future update."

Because that is all Emslie told fans on the subreddit, it is currently unclear whether the "future update" he referenced is the same update that is expected to go live next week according to Infinity Ward's most recent Community Update.

Platinum camo is a highly valued weapon customization "master skin" made available in October 2019 for the first-person shooter alongside Gold and Damascus prints. Unlocking Platinum skins involves a long, tedious process of acquiring a Gold skin for every weapon in a given category (such as shotguns or assault rifles) through various in-game challenges.

Because of the amount of work it takes to unlock this aesthetic option, it makes sense for players to be upset that using it can render playing the game in certain scenarios nigh-impossible — despite the fact that some people in the comments of cammywrightlad's post are chastising them for "camping in windows" or "sticking shiny metal all over their weapon" to varying degrees of genuine critique and/or irony.

Infinity Ward has been pushing to use its most recent first-person shooter for a greater good, as seen though an Outback Relief pack meant to help with the recent fires in Australia. However, that alone does not necessarily excuse the buggy state that Modern Warfare has perpetually been in since launch. Thus it has been good to see developers like Emslie active on social media addressing various issues, particularly as the game continues to push sales through deals at stores like Target.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
