In just a few hours, Activision and Infinity Ward are unveiling more details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer mode. While the game itself is still a couple of months away from release, Infinity Ward just posted a photo of night-vision goggles, which is rumored to be included in one of Modern Warfare's special editions.

During the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009, players who purchased the prestige edition of the game were able to get special edition night-vision goggles, which appears to be what Infinity Ward is trying to emulate for the release of the upcoming reboot. The goggles are confirmed to be working, so expect to pay a hefty price for a pair of these.

In a special event held by Infinity Ward for media outlets, the developer showcased the goggles, which appears to be a modernized version of the one released a decade ago. Although the developer is still yet to confirm more details about the night-vision goggles, a photo from one of the participants at the event revealed that it will be "included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition." It is unclear whether more details on the game's Dark Edition will be unveiled at the August 1 announcement, which will center around the upcoming game's "multiplayer universe."

A few days leading up to the August 1 multiplayer announcement, Infinity Ward confirmed that killstreaks are making a comeback in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Unfortunately, the developer did not share specific details such as how many kills in a row players are required to use particular killstreaks. But it is expected that more will be revealed during the multiplayer reveal or the days that will follow.

Immediately after the announcement, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's White Phosphorous killstreak soon faced backlash and was quickly surrounded in controversy. The controversy is rooted in how the weapon was used in real-life, and some felt that it shouldn't be used as a way to reward people in video games. To those unfamiliar, white phosphorous is an incendiary weapon. As of this writing, Infinity Ward still hasn't addressed the issue.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
