Thus far in season 2, it seems that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans have been treated with iconic additions from Modern Warfare 2. They've seen Ghost return now as an operator, and Season 2 even brought back the fan-favorite map Rust, which will reportedly have a 1v1 Rust playlist sometime next week. That's not to say all content is currently focused on MW2, though, as a recent datamine proves.

Rumors, datamines, and leaks have ran rampant with the game since day one, with many of these pointing toward Modern Warfare's battle royale mode. However, redditor evilonyx took a dive through the game's files and uncovered two upcoming maps for the game that are derived from the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare—that is, Killhouse and Broadcast.

For those who are unfamiliar or have forgotten about these maps, Killhouse is an incredibly small and mostly symmetrical map where players fight over the looking post located in the middle. For comparison, Killhouse is no bigger than Shipment, which has been a good source of quick Battle Pass levels in the contemporary Modern Warfare. Broadcast, on the other hand, has a ton of long sight lines but plenty of room for close-range combat as well. In other words, these two maps would be nice additions to the game, additions that would not be altogether too similar.

However, it's worth mentioning that just because these files can be found in the game, that does not mean they will be added any time soon. That doesn't rule them out as possible season 2 addition, but it seems safe to say that fans are enjoying Rust in Modern Warfare enough to sate any new map desires for the time being. This would suggest that developer Infinity Ward could cast its eyes elsewhere.

For example, many are ready and waiting for the all but officially confirmed battle royale mode. Modern Warfare players have glitched into the Warzone menu multiple times since season 2 began (Warzone is the reported title of the battle royale mode), so if placing bets, it would seem that it would be coming sooner rather than later. Perhaps Killhouse and Broadcast will follow shortly after.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
