Just a few days ago, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's 2v2 alpha began, giving players their first taste of the brand new Gunfight multiplayer mode. Upon the launch of the Modern Warfare 2v2 alpha, only the Rules of Engagement variation of Gunfight was available. However, this is no longer the case, as Infinity Ward has recently updated the alpha with a new variation in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Gunfight: OSP.

Before answering the question of what is CoD: Modern Warfare's Gunfight: OSP mode, it is pertinent to establish exactly how the Rules of Engagement variation plays out. In Rules of Engagement, two teams of two players are pitted against one another, with each team's goal being to eliminate their opponents or reach a designated flag. Each team begins with the same loadout in this Modern Warfare Gunfight variation, and loadouts and spawn locations change every two rounds.

This formula is tweaked slightly in Gunfight: OSP, with "OSP" being an acronym for "On Site Procurement." As this name suggests, in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Gunfight: OSP mode players must locate their weapons on the map rather than beginning with them. This certainly changes the dynamic established by Gunfight: Rules of Engagement, and the recent addition of Gunfight: On Site Procurement to the Modern Warfare alpha should keep this early access experience feeling fresh.

That said, additional Gunfight variations are not the only thing that Infinity Ward has added since the beginning of the CoD: Modern Warfare 2v2 alpha. More specifically, a new map called Stack was launched in the alpha alongside Gunfight: OSP. This puts the total number of maps in the Modern Warfare 2v2 alpha to five, and Stack in particular is a take on an old 6v6 map, which has been altered for these smaller-scale skirmishes.

For those that may be curious about how long CoD's Gunfight: OSP variation will be available, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 alpha is set to end later today. This means that PS4 owners that would like to experience Gunfight: OSP, as well as Rules of Engagement, firsthand should certainly not delay any longer in doing so.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
