There are few things in online gaming more infuriating than finding oneself getting killed repeatedly by a player who takes advantage of unfair glitches to get ahead. Inversely, there are few things more satisfying that making that player pay for it. This week a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player experienced both this frustration and joy during a round of Ground War.

It’s no secret that the latest COD game has had and continues to have a fair number of bugs that have interfered with players’ ability to enjoy the game as intended, resulting in unintentionally overpowered weapons and a spawn system that can kill players instantly, to name a few. One of the more nefarious glitches in the game was found recently and enables players on the Ground War map Tavorsk District to glitch into the map itself and attack other players from behind the safety of a wall or other part of the terrain, unseen by their unknowing victims.

For the last few days, it was believed this glitch made it so those who abuse it can’t be killed, being as they’re technically out of bounds according to the game, but a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player by the name of Camocheese proved that isn’t entirely the case. In a video they posted on Reddit, they showed themselves getting mysteriously gunned down trying to walk up some steps in Tavorsk District, before the kill-cam revealed that another player, The_kraysss, had been hiding under the steps. Adding insult to injury was the fact that Camocheese had been killed twice by The_kraysss before realizing what was going on.

Luckily for those who’ve been on the receiving end of this troublesome glitch, Camocheese didn’t take this lying down. Upon respawning nearby, they armed themselves with the PKM, Modern Warfare’s best LMG, equipped it with the FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) weapon attachment that makes shots penetrate surfaces more, and unleashed a spray of bullets on the steps, killing The_kraysss in the process. Moments later, they fired on the steps again, just in case, and sure enough they took out The_kraysss, who had respawned underneath the steps, once again. Having been found out, The_kraysss then promptly quit the game, putting a cherry on top of this moment of delicious payback.

In sharing the footage of their encounter (capped off with a long shot of Captain Price grinning smugly for good measure), Camocheese emphasized how cathartic it was, especially since technical issues with their headphones had left them rather irritated by that point. “Delivering a glitch abuser some of that sweet, sweet poetic justice is just what I needed,” they wrote. No doubt watching them deliver that justice is just what many other players needed too.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
