Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s first Season 1 patch has added some maps that series veterans will recognize. All three classic maps, Shipment, Vacant, and Crash, were first introduced in the original Modern Warfare title released in 2007.

While not much buzz has surrounded the other two maps, Crash in particular is garnering some strong reactions online. In a lengthy Reddit post, one user breaks down his opinions and analyzes the updated 2019 Modern Warfare version of Crash, explaining why the changes made to it might not have been for the better.

Reddit user JCglitchmaster began his lengthy post by prefacing that he is not writing the post purely because changes were made to the map, but rather because he feels these changes aren’t to its benefit. He even goes on to clarify that maps that were brought back and updated in the 2016 title, Infinite Warfare, were extremely well done and even surpass the original. JC goes onto explain, however, that the changes made to Crash ruin the map, in his opinion. It’s worth noting that some players are also complaining about Shipment’s updates as well.

First, he points at the newly added wall on one side of the map. Though the wall in question was most likely added to give an additional angles for players to utilize while also balancing out the structures on the other side of the map, JC says, “…these two areas weren't as overpowered since you have the two story on your right to peak from. As well as the long corridor and the spawn 2 story.”

JC goes on to explain that because of the way the wall is built, this makes players on the other side of the wall extremely exposed from a myriad of different angles while the players behind the wall are far safer. Additionally, because the wall is slippery to climb its near impossible not to be gunned down immediately upon trying to climb over it.

The next aspect of the map that JC feels was changed for worse is the large building called ‘3 Story.’ This is because much of the cover around the ground where 3 Story looks down on was removed, leaving players on the ground largely exposed from those who would camp at the top of the building. If players camp 3 Story in the updated map from this angle, it is completely overpowered.

Finally, JC points out a second wall atop a building on the map known as the ‘2 Story’ that was lowered substantially in the updated version of Crash following Modern Warfare’s 1.11 update. Since the wall has been lowered so much, it forces players to be exposed from various angles while also forcing them to peak out of cover far too much. Because of this, JC feels that this only serves to aid campers even further, which has already been a major complaint among players.

Though Modern Warfare is planning to see weekly updates throughout the remainder of the year and into 2020, many fans are growing increasingly annoyed by many of the recent updates. Just recently, fans were unhappy that both Gun Game and Shoot House 24/7 were removed from online playlists, though Shoot House 24/7 has since been brought back.
